A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
With the completion of the last capital ship, the Athens carrier, the UNSC fleet for the Entrenchment release is finalized and after the quick work of new strikecraft the fleet will be ready for public consumption.
No really I have been testing the covenant a lot and just haven't noticed the cradle. Did it get unscaled since the public beta or am I just blind?
But once again, sexy, smell patch soon.
Is that the repair ship to the left? Wow I didn't realize how big it really was.
I think the cradle was resized, in the current public beta is as big as two or three marathon at most.
I think she is a little smaller in-game. We resize the ships after we get them from Annihilater, so he has to resize them for these renders based off eying things up and what we've talked about in the past, so it's not a perfect representation. It's mostly just eye candy.
I think it would be great if it were that big - a titan that doesnt focus on direct combat but rather direct fleet support
Im the member on halo nation that gave the calculations to the cradles size, there was a scale chart of her compared to a frigate in a line drawing in a halo graphic. I calculated the length of the cradle to be 13.2 km in length, where as the next closest ship in size is the infinity at 5.2 km.
Can I ask that, in future images, you use a background that contrasts well with the ships? Some of the details are missed with the current background.
are these scales final because on waypoint it show all the scales from the games and the spirit of fire is 2500m where as the pillar of autum is around 1100m but here they look nearly the same size
No, upon inspection this isn't really scaled all that well. Just consider it an image of all the ships in one place.
will there be a saber model, when i launch a saber in game it looks more like something from sins of a solar empire than halo.
Yes there will be a new Sabre.
Yes the current model is from Vanilla SoaSE.
Out of curiosity, is there any chance of the Orion being scaled up a little bit (say ~10-20%)? That thing is a piece of art, and really ought to stand out a little more from a mass of Marathons.
It's built on the Marathon frame, so not really.
I thought he valiant was a n upgraded Marathon and the Orion was a battleship?
Both the Valiant and Orion are built using the Marathon superstructure as the starting point. Orions are obviously heavily modified, but it starts its life out as a Marathon skeleton before being requisitioned for the experimental role.
Nice but can anyone tell me what is the 2nd last and last ship....
On the right it's the ONI prowler. On the left it's the Thermopylae class supercarrier.
Thermopylae class supercarrier is pretty small like a spec compared to the rest of the ships so why is it called a super carrier
Hey its not Thermopylae class supercarrier in the right but a trade ship checked it out in annilator102's deviantart profile it matches from texture of the spec of dust size ship
"the fleet will be ready for public consumption" LOL
After reading about the difference in raw model scale and in game scale, I'm curious how you are going to work the titans after you go to rebellion. Example, UNSC with infinity / covenant with high charity / forerunners with their Dreadnaughts? Or do you have something else in mind.
Covenant titan will be the Assault carrier, high charity would break the scale of the game. Fortunately, you did not make the mistake of mentioning the plot device.
There was only one High Charity and it never engaged UNSC forces so therefore won't be in the mod. It >*MIGHT*< make an appearance as a planet, at least it was discussed somewhere.
The Forerunner dreadnaughts I am unsure about but at the time of the mod only 1 is accounted for, IN High Charity so therefore yad yad, not in the mod.
Sometimes canon has to be sacrificed for playability.
