A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
During a routine transfer of ammunition at the twin Cradle stations UNSC Respite and UNSC Oasis, a Covenant attack managed to ignite a stockpile of Shiva nuclear warheads. The UNSC vessels lucky enough to not be in the resulting blast radius subsequently jumped away without chase by the invading forces.
Credit for the screenshot goes to the young, eloquent Golly.
Such a great shot!
Well gosh, thanks Uni.
Damn... Well, atleast we know nukes will be very very usefull... how many ships were lost?
Both the Respite and Oasis.
*Pauses in respect of the dead*.
He's asking _how_many_ were lost. That isn't in the text above.
UN officials estimate anywhere from 10 to 11 frigates (the UNSC Molokaʻi wasn't yet found among the confirmed dead) and an Athens carrier.
rkraptor70, You bastard you edited your comment to look like less of a retard.
Hey I edited it before you posted you're.I admit I misunderstood what he said.
You still suck.
Whatever.
The UniKraken has been unleashed. CanadaMan7, reel in your beasty.
"The UNSC vessels lucky enough to not be in the resulting blast radius subsequently jumped away without chase by the invading forces." - Read much? :)
>nuclear warhead
I can't wait for the mod to come out now!
>Meme arrows.
4Chan, pls.
If I was the captain of the Marathon, I would have taken out all the Covies myself. Then get promoted to an Orion.
COOL.STORY.BRO.
If you were in command, you would have run behind a wall of SMAC's and spammed frigates. Oh wait...
LOL
You would upgrade to your precious Orion.
very nice explosion, but i do feel the need to point out that making the hull's of ur unsc ships so dark dosnt help the game at all, especially with the dark background of space
nice story but may i point out that speaking scientifically you cant just ignite a fusion warhead, fusion is the preferred power source simply because it is a controlled reaction.
I realized that after writing this.
Perhaps "ignited" was the wrong word. "Triggered"? Dunno.
Plasma burning through a reactor caused an electrical short - damaging the processing matrix of a dumb AI - resulting in an immediate activation of said nukes to ensure Cole Protocol was followed.
What he said.
great pic, and really does it matter if the hulls are dark aren't unsc ships suppose to be dark.
YES
To help blend into space
A) true, but impractical
B) the metal itself is light grey that the hull is made of, do you think the unsc budget cover's painting entire ships?
C) for a gameplay perspective, blending it makes it hard to see details of your own ship, and less entertaining on several other levels
no, when lit up with proper lighting they are a light grey color, they just appear to be dark because of the darkness of space
DEM EFFECTS!
Thats what I call beautiful screenshot, nice effects ,)
Yeah I'm still not sure how he managed to capture this great one ingame...
I'm just that good.
What is going on with the thantos at the too left.
He's backing into a slipspace portal. In-game a beeping sound plays.
In reality it's another way in which the image description is inaccurate. Points for trying though.
What did I tell you abut making stars?
