That MAC round FX needs some work though.
Yes it does. I understand some folks want the blue one from Reach and others don't mind the yellow-orange one from Halo 3 and back, eventually I'll be trying to strike even ground on it.

Technically the mac shouldn't have an fx effect except for the shell coming out of the barrel because it is magnetically accelerated, no chemical processes involved in the firing. but of course this would make the mac look more dull.
You're probably right, but both Halo 3 and Reach had tracers for the MAC, so for the sake of looking good, it has a tracer. The MAC is still a WIP though.
Yeah, with the MAC we're mainly going for the rule of cool in terms of the FX, though the end result will probably be a little less in your face than this example.
It needs to be good looking, but at the same time needs to be identifiable as a MAC so as not to get confused when the Covenant are re-implimented due to their liberal use of beam weapons.
Sorry bout the late comment but it could work like the Sabot anti tank round. It has chemicals in the rear of the round that react to give it a tracer effect for night fighting.
