Our representation of Halo's iconic space combat in the Homeworld 2 engine, which puts the player in command of some of the most powerful weapons fielded by the UNSC and Covenant and to provide a balanced and competitive experience.
To clear things up: In the mod, the UNSC will likely out-number the Covenant thanks to better resourcing operations, automated production facilities (giant factory assembly lines that build frigates like toys) and will benefit more from their higher numbers than the covenant will due to the mechanics of MACs doing alot of damage in a short burst, but will require tighter control to avoid ships wasting ammo on the same targets, aswell as being very vulnerable if they're not facing the target, making scouting around your fleet aswell as infront of them very important to avoid letting the covenant sneak up and get a free lot of shots off before you turn around.
Our models are considerably higher poly than the stock hw2 ones, however we're implimenting LODs that will be in-line with normal HW2 figures. Nothing else we're doing is particularly high-resource, it'll just require you doing a bit more than telling one fleet to go batter the other fleet and occasionally focus-firing big ships.
It's going to get remodeled and have a small redesign, but mainly it'll still be the giant block of metal given that the ones in legends don't fit the book description at all either.
Maybe I'm being picky but shouldnt the Halcyon Class Cruisers be quite rare? In the books (which ARE canon) it's mentioned that theyre being phased out. In fact the only one featured in any canon story is the PoA which is refitted for a spec ops mission anyways...
thats alot of ships
Now that is awesome! Love it.
*Jaw Drops*...off
Now that is a desktop background in the making :D.
It was meant to be, however i couldn't get the render to fit a backround, or else i would have photoshopped in archer trails and all kinds.
Whoa
I would be surprised if that fleet couldn't take on a Covie fleet let along blast a hole in a planet.
Great work!
remember that the covenant always have a bigger fleet then the unsc have.
NICE!
Damn, that looks so great.
looks like you have your work cut out for you canada my man
Next step: converting it to LEGO!
not always the fleet at harvist had 3x more ships than the covenant and the same at simas 4 in the fall of reach book
Five minutes later....
Longsword Pilot: What happened to everyone?
*Covenant fleet emerges*
Shite.
then the cradle takes the hits for the UNSC and thay win the battle

This reminds me of something out of Macross Frontier or something like that. Looks amazing compared to other Homworld mods.
If you're lucky, the Astreus might just turn into a Macross.

Now that is amazing. Whats the big *** ship near the back?
