Yep!
Got new hardware and thought I might take a few pictures of Am, using cool quality settings. Here's the result :)
The new renderer IS NOT used there! I still need to apply normal and specular maps on the scenes, so things might look even cooler!
Comments are always welcome and appreciated!
Everything looks GREAT, except those trees up there. They look flat.
You make ***** shaped models, your argument is invalid.
Well, why? It may just be the angle, but I would make them models, otherwise. And headcrusher, I can't read the insult. Because I set my age to 14. I AM 14. Have another way of saying it?
And I try as hard as I can to make my models good. If you see mistakes, please point them out.
Making ***** shaped models has nothing to do with age, Slider is 14 and he made some amazing **** ( Moddb.com ), and will you stop ******* act like you're a god among modders, the only reason why your mod isn't dead yet, is because you have a legion of fanboys, and the only reason you have a legion of fanboys is because you update you update every 5 minutes, post one of those models on facepunch, I dare you, I double dare you mother ******.
It says he is 19....
I know it has nothing to do with making HD models, but I said I'm 14 because I couldn't read what you said. And at least I try. If you see something wrong, tell me, but don't be a jerk because you find something wrong.
I'm not acting like a god. I know there are thousands better than me, but I haven't had the chance to get to that standard. I was simply pointing out something I found wrong. Why the HELL are you so angry at me for something I didn't do? I didn't want a fight, I just wanted to help SysOp make something that could be better. If you told me the same thing, I wouldn't go insulting you like that. Say what you find wrong, and I'll fix it, that's what modders want, at least what I want.
Don't insult me and my mother because I'm so inexperienced at modelling. I never did anything to you, have I? I've never hurt anyone in my LIFE. If I had, tell me, because it wasn't intentional.
What the hell is your problem, mate?
All he said was that those trees are flat, and they are.
And why would any argument be invalid if he made a ***** shaped model?
You got mad about a 14 year old guy who said that SOMEONES trees are flat, wow. Besides, if his models suck, why would you care? I mean, you're really mature when you're insulting kids about MODELS. He made a couple of ***** shaped models, I know since I was the first ****** to comment on it, saying that it looks like a *****.
But you're also a bit right. If Dexter posted any of his models right now onto Facepunch, that HypernovA would get millions of trolls. But why would anyone have to care what some random troll has to say, hm?
How about rather than getting angry when someone "insults" flat trees, you just don't care. Or you think about it, and notice that those trees look like BALLS. Also, a troll hint for you. When someone thinks that he is a god, even when he isn't, let him be. It's much worse living in a delusion and posting your images everywhere thinking that everyone will love them.
But out of the topic, your avatar is awesome.
IMO, SysOp, the trees look OK, but they could use a bit of work. That's all I was saying. And it could be the angle.
@Headcrusher:
Now Yolanda, we're not gonna do anything stupid, are we? Just go do as your name implies and crush your head.
Yeah, tree line is flat... but player isn't supposed to see those in the way that is featured in the screenshot, so, won't look that flat.
Anywho, I'd like to enhance different parts of the map, but the engine just won't handle it. Perhaps, it can handle it, but I'd need to do a change level and the entity setup, globals, and stuff is already complicated enough :P
Aaaaaaaaand... just for the record: I am against *****-shaped models :P
OK. Good thing I've never made anything that looks like it came from the toilet.
who care about trees, they are background in distance
BADUM TISH
Quick, somebody play piano-cat before it's to late!!!
Yes the trees are flat, but this mod is already over goldsrc's limits, and if didn't notice yet, sysops is trying to make this mod playable on low end machines, if make the trees up there models, the map will lag, goldsrc isn't as advanced as you think it is.
Also, welcome to the intermeknots, where not everyone is a **** sucker.
PS: Pulp-fiction, you really need to see that movie -_-
@IamError
Mature? I'm a teenager for a reason you know.
Also, so is yours ;P
Ugh, god. You SERIOUSLY don't have a life, do you? Trolling all day and all?
Listen to yourself, OVER goldsource limits? If that's possible, how can it run. Pushing the limits, it's called.
And also, look how many graphic intensive stuff he has in one map. Think about it. A few more polys won't make a difference. It won't lag with just a few trees up there. And what are you? His lawyer? I'm his - as I understand - friend, too. I'm giving some advice. Not beating him up and throwing him in a dumpster.
And THAT is your pathetic excuse for being a shmuck? Do EVERYONE a favor, and go back under the bridge you came from. K, yolanda?
Why do I have the feeling if you would've made this it would just be a render of a colorless tree with like, a gazillion polygons.
You have no idea how the internet works, nor how people work.
Please make a Vlog where you tell 4chan you're better as them, I wanne see you end like Jessi Slaughter.
Forget it. It's senseless talking to a liar, and a troll. You're just wasting both mine, and your time.
Oh, and by the way, just because you're being a shmuck doesn't mean you are right. You made a potential ally into an enemy.
/me grabs a cup of coffee.
Sometimes, in order to keep performance, you should stick to certain limits. When it comes to level design, you could stick to a certain number of entities, meshes, brushes, you name it. I usually like to go around 800-1200 world polies and 10000-20000 entity polies. Of course, on actual engines you can go nuts, but, for performance reasons, and because I want to keep the mod playable on low-end machines, I did stick to these numbers.
Having into account my limits, I could determine when I should add more detail and where not doing so. Areas that are likely far away from the player or those that are, somewhat, hidden, are likely to suffer the consecuences of what we, hot developers, call "optimization".
Of course I could add 200 e-polies there, but I rather use those in areas where the player spends more time. Walkable spaces for IE.
That concludes my class. Dismiss everyone.
K. Thanks for clarifying that up. Your mod, you decision. Good luck!
yeah make it like normal man and dont listen trees maniac
he means he cant see swear words cause of his age is set to 14.
Duh -_-
