Every big city has its share of crumbling buildings, which are in need of being restored to their original state. Bridgeville has its own condemned buildings too on Gray's streets and unfortunately for our hero he has to cross a few of them. These estates consist mostly of empty rooms and a lot of abandoned corridors. This so called atmosphere makes the locations similar to that of a labyrinth, which can be seen on the following pictures:
The horror-style concepts, such as the winding air conditioner routes and the monotonous dark rooms, are a main requirement of current mods. The basic HL2 vents are really boring, so I had to change them with displacement based dents, with some new rusty textures, garbage and spiderweb patterns. The newly added elements made the place narrower and scarier, as you can see in this media update:
The voice of Grey has finally been cast as DragonNOR. We will discuss the script and start recording the lines. This enables the main character of Grey to avoid ending up as mute as Gordon was. Thanks to John Imbler, the variety of the ingame music is increasing. The next piece of music has been composed for the Bridgeville hospital, which will probably make the player more depressed and more stressed.
I was wondering about making my own music video about working on the mod. You can see the creation of a metal shelf, and the whole procedure for making a simple room and putting some decals on it.
Now, I would like to take this opportunity to ask for some help from a programmer by changing the code of the modification. The content is working out pretty well, but I can’t handle the programming myself. The mod needs some main changes like a new HUD, flashlight and monster modifying. You can contact me by pm me here on moddb. Thanks for checking out our news update, and as always: if you like what you see, please continue watching Grey, and do not hesitate to share your thoughts with us.

We should start downvoting the useless replies to people who say first comment.
Thank you for your constructive criticism, duke... Or is it ****?
both :D
idiot
I like the dev video! I really only really know how to map, but even watching you map showed me some different methods which was cool. Could you list the programs you used for modeling/texture editing?
Looks like the modelling was done in 3D Studio Max 2009, and the texture editing in Paint Shop Pro :)
Thanks buddy!
nice mapping.
I love those decals and the maps!
Also why does the hotdog poster say "HAMBURGER"?
Haha! you noticed that! :P
hahahahaha
Your atmosphere is brilliant, awesome job.
Amazing maps!
Nice. But I think rUmpel can make even more scary music. You should listen to the AoMDC music to check how scary is it.
I dunno, some of the AoM music is obviously not by him.
very interesting!
Woah, these vents are amazing. Nice job. ;)
Amazing, and I really mean that. It's not common that a level designer/mod team manages to "wash out the source feel". That seriously doesn't look like the source engine! Good job.
Last song, name? ITS AWESOME! PS (Not the AC/DC one)
Blood Brothers - Papa Roach :]
Oh so this is where GMN pulled that video from.
Very nice indeed, though horror isn't something I enjoy alot, still the athmosphere looks creepy, so job well done.
Man, you are an efficient developer. I've yet to make a room like that in one sitting. Wish I had your skill. Keep up the good work.
Great quality work, everything looks perfectly detailed.
I love it when people do this, really great stuff, you've come such a loooong way since Mistake, bursting with talent you're making me look like a n00b ;)
Oh God that Papa Roach song was a blast from the past, haven't heard that in years.
What was that first song? I've heard it before but can't remember where.
At the map title: Egypt Central - over and under
and at the mapping part: Prodigy - Spitfire
Aha, it's Prodigy then, I recognise their style.
I want to be like you when I grow up :P
Holy crap.
That is all.
what modeling program did you use?
3ds max
Hmm, so tasty these maps screenshots
Pretty epic "Gothic" scenes there dude keep it up
Fantastic work as usual !
