GMDX is an award-winning large-scale modification for the 2000 PC classic Deus Ex. GMDX addresses the many flaws of the game, polishes it to a very high standard, and adds new layers of depth that one would have hoped to see in a sequel. Description
NPC lays down heavy suppressive Fire with the Plasma Rifle. Enemies won't be THAT trigger happy in the final release. it's just for demo purposes.

Will they fire a few shots and then stop, or will they continue firing a few more shots after a second or two when you thought they stopped to surprise you?
It would definitely give them a human feeling.
Nope. They don't have long before they time out/return to patrolling if they can't see the player, so suppression fire is a short-lived thing.
For reference:
Vanilla: five seconds to time out on all difficulty levels. This was beyond silly, stealth gameplay considerations or not.
GMDX: ranges from eight (easy) to eleven (hardcore) seconds.
