Yesterday on May 7th, 1945 after almost 6 years on constant fighting in Europe the Allies accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany. I could sit here ,and give the entire background of WWII in Europe but I won't. Instead I want everyone to take a moment of silence for all of those who died during this conflict on any side...
I appreciate your meaningful description. I had family on both sides of that brutal war.

I think it was because it was 9th of May when the news came in at Moscow due to time differences.

The dutch victory day was may 4th, because the allies arrived there earlier
May 4th is remembrance day, may 5th liberation day :)

R.I.P To all the Soldiers and Civilians that died during that horrible conflict, even the Axis side although fighting for the wrong reasons or what they believed in, were still human. So rest in peace for the Allied soldiers, we owe everything to those men, rest in peace for the Axis soldiers as well.
