Galaxy At War - Clone Wars is a total conversion mod for the Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption 2006 real-time strategy that brings us the Clone Wars galactic conflict
Hi, guys, recentry I was thinking a lot about the clone formations in the mod and their usefulness. And I made a decision, that some of you may not like it, but for me this is the best, at least for now. Next changes are possible after the beta tests.
So, every custom clone unit like the 21st Nova corp, 104th Battalion, 501st Legion and etc... will be available in battle only as a single company of troopers. Only 1 will be buildable at the time, but if you loose it, it will become available again.
All companies will have slight differences in the trooper variation, but will have all troopers of that unit, that we will implemented in the mod.
For example, on the pictures here you can see the 104th Battalion's company and some special troopers in it.
The whole company is consisted of 128 regular CT, 4 medics, 4 Rocket launcher troopers, 8 Z6 troopers, 12 CT Sergeants 4 CT Lieutenants and 1 CT Captain to lead them (Picture 1 and 2)
In addition, the 104th will have 2 sniper teams attachments(picture 3), 1 ARF team attachment (picture 4), 1 Jetpack squad(9 Jetpack troopers and a Jetpack Sergeant) (picture 5)
Of course I will ask once again for your feedback in the comments under the pictures, but as I said, no changes until beta tests.

how will they come to ground? Like in The Clone Wars Mod with just one LAAT or with an aclamator?
In my opinion four or five LAATs loading out CT would be nice, but i don't know if it's possible

I like Commander_Cyclo's idea of multiple LAAT's also. But i wouldn't want it for all the company's only a few like the 501st or have all the major company's land by LAAT's but the regular clone company's land by Aclamator. just my two cents
For now all companies lands with Acclamator, but for long time I want to make a complex company lander with 4-5 LAAT gunships with individual animations, I just didn't have the time for that yet.
No it's a good idea, some other mods already did it even with regular clone trooper platoon which consist of regular + eweb + rocket squad
Well, the regular clone company will be the same way, but there also small specialized formations of clones, described here: Moddb.com
And actually I think making 1 company per legion is the only way people to use the regular units. And I put so much effort in them, I really want to see them in game :)

I like your new formations idea, it makes more sense than having to build endless squads to make up a company as in other mods of this era.
my opinion is you who develop it but I think there is another mod like this clone wars you what I really like about this mod is that you could take several battalions of a type of legion, well if you take my opinion in mind is that if they can put to get more a battalion of 501
I have already experimented with building a Clone Regiment - 4 full companies (more than 2 300 individual units). FOC can't handle this, I manage to land them all, after around 15 minutes and the lag was so terrible, you can't even understand what's going on with the game

not if I understood I was referring to the uniform of the clones as they always have the hobby of making a Jedi will command an army, so with several battalions of 20 or 25 group and each independent group, not if I fail to understand, I would not put an entire legion of 2300 men craseen I just play them out ........ it is only an opinion thanks
I'd like to offer a different suggestion.
Based on how long it seems deployment would take, and several other reasons (garrisons, map size, computer performance) I could go further in depth with. I think keeping them as platoons, while also including the various types of troopers, but also a limited amount of, say, five or so platoons, at any given point in time. This would allow for a large amount of flexibility in both strategy and tactics.
But that's just my suggestion. In reality, there's not much stopping me from changing this post release, but not everyone who may prefer something like what I've suggested is capable of doing that.
That was actually my first idea, of limit all platoons to 4, but than I changed my mind for now
My idea consists in following. Each Legion/battalion/corps will have an individual specific Vehicles (LAAT, AT-TE, Juggernaut, BARC-speeder, etc.) for Example: the 501st AT-TE, LAAT. 442nd Siege battalion Juggernaut A5/A6, etc. Will Also have specific clones (Rifleman, Blaster, Sniper, Z6, EWEB, Engineer, Medic, etc) they will All spawn together with individual specific Vehicles from Acclamator.

But what if you don't want to land so many troops at once? It seems like overkill.
We will balance that with limit.

This limits players to have certain play styles rather than choosing their own path. These battalions are made up of thousands maybe hundreds of thousands in the Clone Wars, they just haven't been shown due to constraints. Also isn't kinda overkill dropping in so many soldiers when you only want to have a small engagement or drop in troops as you go along? If you guys are hell bent on keeping this idea maybe I suggest have a patch/plugin which changes it back to the old idea aside from the main mod?
Also on the idea of having each soldier being individual rather than a group, when I played the other mod which contained this; it was neat to be able to move a soldier or two out every once and a awhile but it became very overwhelming trying to micromanage these groups while the enemy AI doesn't wait for you. If this idea is changed or you guys agree on a plugin how about having the option to recruit a squad or an option to recruit one soldier or a squad of moveable soldiers?
IDK, I guess I see a loss of potential by grouping everything into one big clunky chunk. :/ I really hope you guys rethink this idea in the future.
Regular troopers will come in squads and platoons, as described in the Formations article.
Clones will remain single units.
will the company from each legion only have 1 unit cap use?
Of course not. This will be very unbalanced

No, I manage to find how to decrease landing time and it takes about 1 min 15 sec. And I even can make it faster, but I think it's fine like this

That comment actually makes me wanna see the typical B1-Battledroid drop on this. Do they get some kinda of formations with certain units as well?
Yes, they will be in formations also, but they are not ready yet as the focus is on GAR. But a normal B1 droid company has 100 droids, so this maybe will be the largest unit for CIS
Okay dude let me just say something. I have been playing this game for years and played all sorts of mods. But I have to say, I have never looked forward to a mod release so much in my entire life. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan and I love the Clone Wars Era, and based on my knowledge of lore (alot of knowledge I might add) Your mod seems accurate, well designed and just amazing. Please don't keep us all waiting for too long, and keep up the great work! :)
We spend a lot of time in research. We want this to be the most accurate mod ever. But this takes a lot of time.
This sounds like a very interesting concept & I can hardly wait to play your mod. I enjoy RAW & TCW mods & like to see different concepts instead of the same thing repeatedly
