Finding himself in the misery a soldier tries to do the best out of his lonely situation. Searching for allies he quickly becomes a major part in an issue he´s never
been training for.

Focalpoint is a "back to the roots-mod" for Halflife discussing the well known resonance cascade issue from an other point of view.
This mod provides some new textures, sounds, improved areas from HL1 and specific scientist speeches. Requires only Halflife to play.

For all guys who have been a bit confused while playing or are about to download this mod: This mod is created more like an adventure. You´ll have to puzzle and search your next pathway, it does intentionally not show clearly, where you´re supposed to go next. Those who have been playing adventures like "Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis" or graphics adventures like "Myst" and "Zork Nemesis" will probably like this mod.

I'm able to install and start the mod, but once in-game, I can't do anything but looking around.
Can't move, shoot, whatever.
I checked the options menu and the "keyboard" tab is completely empty.

Can someone help?

Copy whole gfx/shell folder from "valve" to "focalpoint" e.g. this mod's folder. Then reset all the controls using Use Defaults in game options :). Hope that fixes it. Also you can't move for first seconds as that's part of intro scene. I remember it being like that at least :P.

I assume that you´re trying to get the blue Keycard and the Security Guard prevents you from picking it up?
You have two Options: Distract him by pressing the fire-alert button. You can get there by entering the staircase, that is now accessible after the Security Guard "caught" you. He will follow you down.
The second option is to kill him.

Allright, just finished it :) WOW, what a wonderfull Mod.... i really really enjoyed the mod and it had a lot of nice ideas and somehow a fresh unique look. I cant really say that i found something that i really dislike , mostly normal hl1 bugs like elevator stuck or not moving scientists :D Some buttons were so small i didnt saw them on the first time. Too the "Cards" are super small :) maybe add a sprite so you can see them =) *Spoiler* The Rock you need to shoot, i nearly started to cheat there…

The mod is Ok, but not really good in my opinion. First, i dont understand why this mod was created only for the WON-Version without a hint on this page. Doesn't the author want everyone can play the mod easily? So downloaders have to be creative. The downloaded file contains the mod in a very untidey folder. The reason is, the creater use much content from Opfor/TFC/BS which isn't illigal, but there are many unused files (textures for examples). My first impression all seems to be dilettante and…
