Alliance are a serie of different mods. On the Star Wars GC, you can play the civil war Empire vs Rebel era + Black Sun and soon the Republic and CIS.
This is a example about how Vol'takes will add new features to the game. Another proof about how buy the early version from this game is a good idea.
If you do not know, if you buy the early version, you will save money because it is cheaper than the final version and at the end, you will see it upgraded to the deluxe version, a special version with everything and some more things.
Yeeessss!!! So much yes!!!
That will be like a 1000 times more realistic than the EaW way of transporting troops.
This game is definitely going to be huge in EaW+FoC community.
finally a new feature!
Hopefully, it will not be the unique.
I wonder if there will be a way to load a ship up with a complement and then have it automatically replace them (at cost) after each battle? Otherwise I imagine it will quickly get frustrating to have to rebuild and reload fighters/bombers onto each ship after each battle.
I agree but I do not know too much about new features.
That's IMO a horrible idea. It basically makes the ships act as factories. It also ruins the awesome realism this new feature brings. And a good hard AI would exploit the hell out of that feature.
I would have much more fun thinking of the strategy to and successfully managing a fleet than have its ships auto-repaired/replaced.
I'd rather have the ships re-supply automatically (at cost, not free) than have to constantly fill up my build bar at every planet with single fighters/bomber units to replace losses in battle.
Essentially I'd like this feature be a way to customise the fighter load-out of a ship rather than having pre-defined squadrons per ship class.
I think having the build bars fill up is an excellent penalty for battle losses. That will make battle strategies more realistic than they are in EaW.
EaW way of handling ship supplements is so unrealistic and reckless. You never really need to care that much about fighters and bombers because you now they will magically respawn in the next battle. And the lost fighters aren't even shown in the outcome screen!
But this way, after suffering great fighter/bomber losses in battle, you would need to suffer the consequences as well - both in the money and waiting time. That will make battle strategies so much more realistic because the player will need to worry about preventing losses rather than covering them afterwards.
And have in mind that what stands for the player, stands for the AI as well.
For example:
You know how the droids like to swarm you in RaW? Seemingly endless numbers of fighters that come from Lucrehulks are quite a problem. But if they are destroyed and the majority of Lucrehulks retreat, instead of attacking you again 10 seconds after the battle, they will need the time and money to recover.
Trust me, this new way of handling supplements will do wonders to the game balance and realism.
Now remembering, in the old SW Rebellion. You needed reload from fighters after each battle if you lost them. It would be good for Vol'takes if it is possible. I would like a game the most similar to the old SW Rebellion. Even I would like a ground combat where you do not play a tactical game but you build the troops. However, the game simulated the results.
I would like to see tactical ground combat but that would require a lot of improvement over the current EaW ground battles' mechanics which don't require any hardcore smart strategies and are rather dull after some time spent in GC.
Not only improvement, you must understand how they have only the engine and they need add everything starting from zero.
I literally just heard about that game from this update, and i may be it only becouse of this mod!
