Alliance are a serie of different mods. On the Star Wars GC, you can play the civil war Empire vs Rebel era + Black Sun and soon the Republic and CIS.

Love the background.

If you could find a way for the blue horizon to peek a little more over the planet (shine on it from where it starts gradually) that would be great.

At 1:55, the view angle on the mini-map is approximately 65° and from that view angle we can see almost the whole diameter of the galaxy. Basic math tells us that we are at distance of almost 4/5 of the diameter away from the center of the galaxy (distance = radius*tan((180°-65°)/2) = 78.5%*diameter). That is an impossible location for a planet.

But it looks pretty, though. :)

Maybe I misinterpret this, being in a tired state of mind, but the view angle on the battle map would be irrelevant to the distance I reckon. The galaxy with its (as for the viewing possibilities of the setting) fixed tilt could alternately be set in any direction of the background (or, conversely, the battle plane be set in any direction from the planet), thus be viewed from any view angle in the map, and the planet's distance from the core would visually and virtually be the same.

It's the tilt in the view of the galaxy here that makes an indeed fringe planet like Dac look to be located somewhat too far above the galactic plane - but anyway it's a fine looking nod to the EP V end shot.

I'm sorry but I fail to understand how the view angle is irrelevant.

The view angle along with the parallax is what astronomers use to measure the distance of stellar objects.

(I didn't include the parallax in calculation because I didn't care about the actual numerical value of the distance so I expressed it in terms of galaxy's diameter)

Sorry. Its Star Wars, get over it. I am not bashing math though.

It is funny. It is irrelevant because most of the stuff at SW universe is impossible, at least from our perspective now and probably forever. It is more than Scifi, it is fantasy at many ways. I know how some people will not like this afirmation but it is the true.

I've said it's not irrelevant for calculating the planet's distance from an observed object (a galaxy in this case).

Of course it's irrelevant in Star Wars. I mean, it's Star Wars!!!

Description

Here you can watch how the Galaxy background looks in a very far planet from the core as Mon Calamari.
