Yeah, trailer is online since yesterday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAudKqTZKZk). Are you going to add some of the revealed stuff in the near future, like the new Stormtroopers?

sure! or the R2-D2 head riding on a ball, a girl driving fridge/ice lolly or a Sith with a lightsaber which looks like a medieval sword (even though it´s canon)...

I'm absolutely with you Seregruth. Especially the rolling droid was an absolute no-go for me. I mean I can live with a rolling bucket, but that? Whatsoever, the new Stormtrooper armors are quite okay I think. I said "in the near future", because I think that in following of the trailer more stuff will get revealed in 2015. Of course it wouldn't make sense to add just some things from a short trailer just because it is one for a new Star Wars episode. I just wanted to know if Nomada is considering to add things from Episode VII generally, because it also could have been that he may consider only the things from the old canonicity without mixing them with stuff from the new continuity. So, the answer "let's see about it" answers my question very well, thanks. Ah, I forgot to mention that the X-Wing looks superb in my last comment, great work!

Each their own, and I don't really mind after all -

though have people seen the same trailers as I have? These objections were almost the least relevant details in them.

After the suckfest that is Star Wars Rebels, what can be seen from Ep VII so far is quite a relief.

I do not go to add nothing from Episode VII before I watch the film, simply, it has not sense.

Personally the teaser is probably the worse teaser made ever, it looks as a joke. A simple bunch of images and some of them with bad quality for a film. They should not show these things for a film which it is the continuation from 6 films.

That is the sense and pretty much the definition of a teaser trailer - it provides glimpses at a movie, not longer portions of scenes. Here no less of a movie to be released in one year...
(I'd prefer a teaser over a trailer any day, the latter being so revealing nowadays one knows pretty much about the entire story and best scenes before watching the movie).

Graphically there was nothing to complain about at all (given the Youtube or whatever hoster quality was good enough, as there are also some crappy uploads of the material). On the contrary, the visual aesthetics direction is quite promising, more than I had expected from a mainstream / Disney movie.

I'm only talking about the movie, not game additions, BTW.

I do not agree because the teaser looks very close as a game movie. I have watched thousands of teaser trailers and they were better.

I have to agree. I've seen fan-trailers which have a quite better quality, especially in terms of atmosphere and well, structure. I'm with you Hyuza that nowadays some trailers give too much information about the story and some of them even show the best scenes of the films, so that you won't even have to see the rest of the film.
As for the aesthetics: I think the first trailer with J.J. Abrams which shows the film-set with some aliens on (most probably) Tatooine was quite good, because it captured the old aesthetics quite well. They even rely on the glorious old Ralph McQuarrie stuff, which is good when implemented right. I also think that this trailer was even better than the current one. The problem with the current teaser is, that the scenes shown will definitely be in the film I suppose. So there will be a football-droid and all that other stuff which is in discussion right now. As I have first seen the trailer I really thought it was a joke or a fan- or fake-trailer or something like that. Whatsoever, I think we have to wait for the final result. This is only my subjective view on the teaser, nothing more or less.

As for the story I have the following hypothesis:

(Attention: Possible massive spoiler!)

You all know the scene where Luke enters the dark cave on Dagobah, right? I think they are going to change the sense of that scene in some way. As Luke sees his face in Vader's helmet, it "means" that he is in danger to fall to the Dark Side if he behaves the wrong way. I think that in the new film, Luke will be in the role of Vader, using the old burnt and scorched Vader-mask to hide his face. In the end he may be killed, so that in fact the scene on Dagobah in the dark cave was a prophecy, which may be revealed in the film. That "Dagobah-hypothesis" is however only a theory, I may be absolutely and utterly wrong on this. ;)

Well, I actually have seen 4 different trailers by now with (what looks to be) genuine material, which I'm referring to...

Things like the sword and the droid are relatively small visual gimmicks (so far), nothing to judge an entire movie on, and quite expectable for a new Star Wars movie - they always had a certain share of sideshow goofiness somewehere in it. What's been shown here is not worth a drama, and wouldn't be nowhere as disturbing as... let's say, ridiculous dialogue. IMO.

Then again, I'm not what they call a "fanboy". I don't harbour immense expectations, and my life won't be ruined in case the movies suck.

Never I have told how the lack of story from the teaser were a problem, the trailers never show the real story.

The problem is how it looks. Firs the desert image, it looks very strange as if it was painted, second...better ignore the droid ball, third, compare the images from Tatooine from the other films with these, at these there are few details, it is as if there was missing stuff. The unique good feature can be the X-Wings. For end, the millenium falcon, it looks as a image from a video game.

I would not be surprised if the next months, we start to see new games similar at concept to these images and I do not wait a better teaser before the summer.

For end, I remember the re-make from Star Trek made by JJ and I feel how he has reduced the amount of detail here....

Ah about the story, I find very strange how if it is set 30 years after the episode vii, why are they flying at TIE Fighters and X-Wings? it has not sense.

Did you read my mind? Those are almost exactly my thoughts, Nomada. X-Wings, TIE-Fighters and still Stormtroopers? Kinda weird. However, they included a new version of the X-Wing, which heavily relies on Ralph McQuarries old concept (McQuarrie concept: Juxtapoz.com and Episode VII X-Wing: Nerdist.com). As for me, who absolutely adores McQuarrie's concepts, that's great. They may also have changed the TIE-Fighter somehow, maybe on the cockpit part. I couldn't find high-resolution pictures, so it's still a hypothesis.
The 30 year gaps makes it a bit weird, yes. They could also have included the E-Wing or probably even something similar (like this: Brandx0.deviantart.com). But now you could also argue that the X-Wing series now has a new evolutionary line: Z-95, old trilogy X-Wing, McQuarrie X-Wing and then maybe something like the E-Wing (even if non-canon now).

As for the desert, yeah, it just looks like a random desert, not like Tatooine. It lacks the atmosphere of a typical Tatooine desert somehow, something which is essential for the overall scenery. Maybe the camera perspective is also a factor which strengthens this impression.

Nonetheless, I think the next months will be very thrilling for all Star Wars fans. ;)

You said before that it's a "simple bunch of images", that's what I was referring to.

As usual people are way overthinking this - unlike back in the 80s.
If they want realistic science fiction - don't watch Star Wars. Alone that there's audible sound in space...

It's obvious JJ & co. go for recognizable, yet somewhat changed and upgraded looks, to connect to the old trilogy, yet give it a modern, timely shot. And especially for considering this is not some niche product with a special taste audience to satisfy, but an immensely broad public, this I repeat looks very promising so far. Take it or leave it.
But it's still way to few material to judge on missing details.

I'm not sure if it's pathetic or just hilarious that this has become such a thing to seriously call it "controversial" - but it's certainly entertaining. :D

We know one feature from SW films, they do not go to use something or at least, the less amount of stuff made by other people before. This is the reason because you will not see a E-Wing.

idk, it still looks high-poly as f_ck... I know you tried to do your best, but what is the polycount now?

I have not a final count. A normal X-Wing from my mod has the half. But this is not for squadron, this is for a unique hero starship. The original had three times more polygons than the model from the image.

The last polycount is 10000 more or less, perhaps at a future with additions in the texture, I can reduce it more but by the moment it must be enough.

Description

Well, this is the last addition for the next 6.0b. The X-wing Stealth. A special X-wing used by the Jedi Knights in the Legacy books (search Darth Caedus in the wookipedia).

This model was made by Arachno.R sometime ago for his mod from the X2 game. I had it from more of one year ago but never I added it because it was too high poly. Now I have reduced by myself the poly count and I can add it as a probably some additional hero, very probably Jacen and Jaina (the sons from Han and Leia in the books) between others. Perhaps it will be the last time that we will see to some of them in the SW universe because there are many rumors about the delete of these characters from the SW universe with the new films. Perhaps we will know more about this weekend or the next, because the first trailer from the new film will be released at some theaters from EEUU. I do not wait too many information about the film but it will be enough, probably we will watch a trailer showing the millenium falcon and several images speaking about the return from the dark side or some like this.
