And look, the reason for Vongs being famous mod is that it wasn't released yet and they keep on showing fantastic models.
Yes probably it will be only for the chosen ones with high quality PCs, but the fact I still don't uderstand is what is your problem. Vongs is a mod like any other, including yours.
I would even say that Alliance, Thrawn Revenge, Rep at war, Absolute enhancement mode, Corporate addon and Imp ciwil war are the best released mods for EaW and yours is one of those few still active.

P.S.: I'm looking forward to release of Vongs, but I don't think it will be better than TR. And you are right about this dying community of EaW - it's getting to old now.

I asked the devs of the Vong what peformance they expect when the mod is finished and all this units with turrets fly around shooting each other. They told me there will be no performance loss xD Can hardly believe that. In the end they are all limited, due to the engine. We can just hope Raziel will finish his game, so people can port their mods to the enhanced engine with less hardcode and barricades.
But in fact you are right, in the end all mods are more or less the same. And I am pretty sure our comments will be deleted soon :P Cheers

Raziel is a modder/ developer and was part of the Steiner Modding Group. They developed "SAU 3" and "Awakening of the Rebelleion 1+2" for example. Both are excelent Mods :P Raziel has now formed a developer team and they are working on a game that uses the Empire at War engine made by Petroglyph. They have their permissions and support. Nomada published some new about this a few weeks ago.

They have more than their permissions, they have made a deal with them for to use a advanced version from the the EAW game at a new game named Vol'takes. It will not be a mod, it will be similar to EAW because the engine is similar but it will add a lot of new features and probably it will run a lot better, even running at directx 9. Specially I wait that it does not use shadow mesh because even the old Universe at War had not them. About lag at it, if something we can see is how the 32bits games have their limitations and if you make a mod with a lot of stuff, I´m sure that you will reach these limits some day. The point can be search the best balance for our mods at it when we port them to this new game.

At other point, when it be released if it is not made by anybody more and I can make it, I will release my models converted for it. It will help a lot to the people which they do not know or they can not use 3Dmax.

I do not like people trying sell their mods as better above the others, you will not see to me making it. All the mods are good, we have different tastes, this is the unique point.

About surprises, the unique incoming surprise will the Vong Invaders Expansion. When the other be finished, if it continues at EAW, I wait that most of us be at Vol'takes playing with fun a mod without the big bugs from EAW.

With EA making the SW games, I do not see close in the future nothing like this, perhaps only perhaps a game similar to the next C&C game but I do not think that it adds space combat. Now our best option, better even than a C&C SW game will be Vol'takes. We will be able move all our stuff to it with exception from map which they must be made from zero but I´m sure that many people will try to make new maps similar and better than the old EAW maps.

Description

I have seen lately how some people lie to the players and themselves with dreams from a story taken from another world. EAW/FOC is a game made at 2006 and it was very bad depurated, from the begining we could see lag, lag in battles and lag in galactic map. Just the past of the years and the improvement from the computers could help us with this.

I have made mods with 300 different units or less and I can tell you that you can not avoid the lag. The fact is how this people claiming that they have resolved the lag, they lie to all the community because we can see lag at most of the mods, even the original game. Now they must think that people have not eyes, they speak from to add a lot of different units with high poly, textures with a very big resolution, more and more things and they continue telling how his mod will run without lag as if they had discovered some better.

Well I do not know if they have discovered some better but I know how I have not seen nothing better at all the published mods.

For finish the big point, you can not say how there is not lag because you tested it when you have not a completed mod with the amount of work that you are speaking.

Before you start to call me lier, remember how this people claimed that they would need a very powerful computer. Now when they say that there are not lag......

Now please, give the true to the people, most of them will see lag.
