And something else: can you make one side to assault the ship, while the other one is defending it? I think it'll be better and more close to what happened in "Dark Force Rising".
For example, the Rebels control the ship and the Imperials try to drive them out (they attack from outside the ship - from an island, for instance). The ship will serve as the Rebel base. And the goal for victory would be to kill all enemy units. If you can make some of the ship's components/rooms to serve the same role as some of the normal structures (like producing units or be small turrets) it will be even better.
Also, why not infantry only map won't be fun? If all or most of other maps are mixed with infantry and vehicles, a few maps with only infantry or only vehicles or some other limitations wouldn't make them more original and fun?

If you go to see all on EAW from this realistic perpespective, you will discover how your ideas are not fun for most of the people.
This is a very original ground map adapted to the EAW gameplay.
Infantry only is used by small walkers and other small vehicles on the mod.
I do not understand what you say from the assault ship. But you must understand that ground maps must be adapted to what is possible on the game.
The next new ground map will be Taanab. Another original ground map.

look, if you don't like the map just wait for the next download and change the map yourself but don't put it public without the permission of Firefox.
I can make a mission like it but I do not go to make it by one reason. Never on the book the coral vanda was controled by rebels.
About infantry only......I think that you have not played the mod. There is not infantry only. I changed it by infantry + light vehicles only.
But tell me what would happen if you have a heavy factory into the ship........
Other point, the descriptions from the book speak about a very big ship.
