Alliance are a serie of different mods. On the Star Wars GC, you can play the civil war Empire vs Rebel era + Black Sun and soon the Republic and CIS.
If you have not seen this at 6.02, perhaps you have not played a planet far away from the core. In them, you can see a different star system remembering the star background showed in the last images from Episode V. It was made for the 6.02 by Nawrocki.
It is a very good addition because at combination with the nebulae from each galaxy zone, each star background looks different to the others.
And you are telling me this is 10 years old game? Not buying it.
Anyone who down votes his comment is an idiot btw... he's saying this looks too spectacular for a 10 year old game..
But clearly some people do not like the success from the others.
The galaxy you see during the last shots is either a galaxy close to the galaxy in which Star Wars takes place or another celestial object withing the Star Wars galaxy, which is more likely to be true.
Cheers
well there are 2 satellite galaxies orbiting the main one in star wars; eg the Nagai.
Yes, for example. It is very unlikely that they travelled months/ years to the point from where they see their own galaxy from this specific distance.
I know Star Wars actually never deals with the speed of light and how long travel takes (Death Star flied from Alderaan to Yavin in a couple of hours), but still.
Actually, there is some story to the speed of light in the Star Wars (expanded?) universe. It basically states that the main hurdle in space travel is reaching and crossing the speed of light, i.e. entering hyperspace. Once that is accomplished, accelerating beyond that point is conceived to be easy.
I roughly did the math once, presuming the Star Wars galaxy is as large as the Milky Way, and AFAIR one would need the speed of light times a factor of at least a million to make it from Tatooine to Alderaan in less than a week.
This is beautiful... haven't seen it in-game yet indeed.
As for the final shot from Episode V, Wookieepedia has this:
"In 2003, Leland Chee confirmed on the StarWars.com Message Boards that the object was indeed the Star Wars galaxy. The film's director, Irvin Kershner, refers to the object as simply "a galaxy" on the Audio Commentary of the 2004 DVD release."
