Post news Report RSS reason of release delay

I never expected that the release would be this long belayed because of the latest STeam update.Previous updates also had severel serieus problems but those we're taking care of by Valve within a few days or weeks at the most. But it looks like these new problems will not be fixed anymore, or it should be that the community is able to fix them. The last update did improve the looks in a big way, but it did corrupt at the same time loads of mods !!

In my last news post i spoke of 7 May as release date, and now it's already 21 june and Final Project is still not released.
It realy looked like if we could manage to release back then, untill the last Valve/Steam update was released,... and suddenly everything changed. Ofcourse am i to glad with this new update, it makes HL2 and ep1 look like ep2. But, as with lots of previous Valve updates does this one too cause a lot of problems that weren't there before. We work like crazy to fix things.

Personally Leon, I have no doubt, that despite all the setbacks, " Final Project " will be a great piece of work. Your work never disappoints ! All the best with the repairs.

I saw your mod, it will be a 10/10 I think by now and, you must not explain why your release is being delayed, the last Steam update scrapped very much work, and, I hope you'll be fine with your mod!

Well, I feel you don't need to 'explain' your cause of delay. We can wait, all that matters is if you release it at all. I also saw a message on the 2nd trailer saying you were gonna cut a good amount of the mod. PLEASE don't do that... I would rather wait another year and see a great mod rather than see a semi-good one in a few weeks. Remember that a good amount of our mods are all screwy in different ways as well, so we most likely couldn't play it either. Anyway, good luck. I'm confident that we will get steam fixed in a month or so, so once again, please just wait for valve or the community to fix it.

Stay cool, just beware of when releasing it, many other mods are going to be released near July 4th, select a good date for releasing and a little delay won't kill anyone, people are waiting for Black Mesa Source coming out this vacation. If I were a modder, avoiding those big mods release date would be neat. Don't worry, steam and their new updates sucks.

yeah, best to b-cool, its easier for us players than for the mod makers :P did valve release any detailed information as to what exactly was changed in the game files by that update? that'd be very helpful for all the modders who got their stuff broken just so. thanks for explanation but i guess this update debacle is widely known already...
