Not to be confused with the Republic class cruiser, the Republic class star destroyer was a front-line combat ship created with the New Class program. A product of KDY, it was distinct due to its lack of the classic angular hull shape of typical Kuati designs. Heavy armed and roughly analogous to the older Imperial I star destroyer.
