The big news from Exterminatus this month is about the big critters. Progress with the animations is going according to plan, even without experienced animators. This month we had enough done to get both the Tyranid Warrior and Lictor player models in-game. Big thanks to Typheron for the months of effort and patience he put into the warriors animations.
With these player models in game we could start testing the chameleon ability of the Lictor, which went from a much under used class, to the stealth assassin he was always intended to be. We've been having some real predator moments in testing, it's a rush. Can you spot him in time?
Fear not humanity the xenos haven't been getting it all their own way. The marine veterans combination of chainsword and inferno pistol (a pistol variant of the meltagun that was in the news in January) has been receiving some attention and new sounds care of DeBaron. Don't be alarmed by the crudeness of the maps shown here, these are just for testing purposes, their will be better ones in the actual game.
Exterminatus is looking for an additional coder to help out with special effects, so that ChromeAngel can focus on the marine animations and brood coding which are next on the agenda. If you are interested mail me quoting 'exterminatus coder' in the subject.
Until next month, watch out, theirs a Lictor about.
nice work jsut a shame the pics are so dark
I'm not a WarHammer fan, but these look very promising, keep it up.
yas dark ;( but nice more more more
Wow, finally a mod for Source that looks good.
On the subject of it being dark, how is that a bad thing, its Warhammer 40K, its meant to be dark.
The HUDS are pretty sweet, simple and small :D
Thanks IHM, i am glad you appreciate what were trying to do. To everyone else, this is gothic sci-fi. It will be dark and scary at times, its the nature of the genre.
Looks nice to me . :)
yeh im a huge 40k fan i know its sposed to be dark i just want to see the texture on the models a bit better!
omg i mean dark as in the lighting.... ive got to turn my brightness too 100% to see a slight glimpse at the genestealers texture. if thats what its called :) and yea i know 40k aint a spin off from teletubbies that wasnt my prob.
like the model and the tyranid skin, but the maps look way bland
As Chromeangel said, the maps at the moment are just a temperary testing ground for the rest of the content. When we get the rest of the content and code implemented we will begin rigorously working through the maps to produce something decent for you to run around and kill each other on ;)
whys it always me you see being set, blown up or shot on fire in those post combat screenies?
looks great!
hmmm very great id say. :D
