In April and May we got around to addressing an issue raised in beta testing that completely passed us by in earlier tests. The team selection menu has had an oversight corrected where the scoreboard was in-accessible and the number of players on each team was not available to players selecting a team (which lead to badly unbalanced teams).
The menu also gained in-game access to the player manual, to enable new players to make more educated decisions about which team and class to join in addition to EX iconic menus.
In order to get EX out to the public in a playable and timely manner the team an I have decided to postpone the inclusion of a feature that was holding up the development of the rest of the mod. To that end there will no longer be "broods" of AI creatures to assist the Tyranid players. I underestimated how technically challenging they were going to be.
It's also a goof as far as back story goes, but the mod is pretty much balanced without the NPCs. We plan to see the broods return after the first release, so the months of development time that has gone into will not have been wasted. We're still looking forward to fighting for and against a full Tyranic horde, but it's looking unlikely this side of summer.
Sorry for the long delay between news posts, we really wanted to have something new to show you, but it's been a slow few weeks of development and hectic time at the day jobs. To make up for the late news Typheron has made this video of Exterminatus gameplay.
