This mod is set in Games Workshop's, great Warhammer 40,000 ( 40k ) universe. Each map pits Imperial Space Marines against the Tyranid swarm and the Legions of Chaos, competing in a series of mission objectives, culminating in a battle to decide the fate of the planet. In Beta 7 of Exterminatus the space marine Veteran class has received several update to his signature weapon, the pistol and chainsword combo. Vertarans now have the choice of equipping either a plasma or inferno pistol, bother of which have new firing effects. The veteran also has a new chainsword model. In this shot we can see the plasma pistol equipped and a still of the new tyranid warrior animations.
