Excessive Unreal 2 is one of the most chaotic, stupid, hilarious, and insane mods ever made for Unreal Tournament, and it has incredibly well-balanced, action-packed gameplay. It is set in Hell on Na Pali, and is completely over-the-top with absurdly powerful weapons and giant hordes of a huge variety of enemies. It's Unreal like you've never seen it before.
If you like Serious Sam, Doom, and Unreal - especially when blended together in the most absurd (yet somehow perfect) way - this mod is for you. You can download it here on ModDB or from links provided on the EXU2 Forums. Head there for further details!
Originally, EXU was a retake of Unreal's singleplayer campaign using a variety of crazy monsters and the Excessive UT arsenal, hence the name. Now, though, there's EXU2, which is bigger and better in every possible way.
EXU2: Batshit Insane, the singleplayer map pack, is built with EXU2's ridiculous weapons and monsters, and is set in dramatically-modified Unreal maps (plus a few new ones). Open Beta currently ships with the first SIXTEEN playable maps and an intro map! You'll tear through hordes of wildly varied enemies with weapons as diverse as they are devastating.
And if that's not enough, you can also use EXU2's plethora of weapons, items, and enemies in multiplayer games or botmatches using any combination of EXU2's mutators. Turn any game into an Excessive discord spree by swapping Unreal or UT guns with EXU2's, adding monsters, and other fun stuff!
This mod is currently in Open Beta mode, which means that while it is fully playable and released, it is not finished! Beta means beta. A lot of bugs remain, along with things that need to be polished / fixed / completed. But this gives you an opportunity to contribute! You can report any bugs or problems you encounter, especially issues with gameplay, and post about them in each version's release thread, which will always be a sticky near the top in the forum.
You are also highly encouraged to make your own EXU2 levels and content if you feel so inclined! Post a thread for your content on the forums and I'll support it as best as I can. Do keep in mind, though, that Open Beta assets will be updated frequently, so gameplay and technical balance may shift from patch to patch. I will try to be as transparent about changes as possible so you know what to expect.
So if you download EXU2 Open Beta, feel free to help me smooth it out by messing around and pointing out the rough patches!

Still confused on the new starting map.
Follow the banners. Difficulty 1 (Easy) = only one glyph on the banner, Difficulty 2 (Medium) = two glyphs, etc!

For the next patch I'm probably gonna have a wee bit more text identifying each banner, though, right at the start, so it's less difficult to figure out which leads to which. And stuff. Things. My apologies!
OH **** I have the perfect idea to solve this once and for all! Not till next patch of course, but it will be pretty cool! And interactive!
I uploaded the released v5.02 files to ModDB, though they are pending authorization right now. In the mean time, go ahead and get them from the EXU2 Forums download links!
Also went ahead and marked this mod as released when Open Beta first launched, even though it's not complete. It is close enough to done that while the campaign has a lot of work left to do, the gameplay itself is quite polished. When the FINAL release hits, though, I will change the date!

EXU2 is going into Open Beta mode on Thursday, October 11th! There will be a big release and stuff! More details at the UnrealSP.org forum thread if you want 'em.
Too lazy to submit an official news post at the moment. I've sure got my work cut out for me cleaning up this page once Open Beta launches!
Hoauagh, I haven't been keeping up with this ModDB profile as well as I should because I've been INCREDIBLY BUSY working on the actual mod! This is a good thing, of course, but I apologize for letting the media here get so outdated. I'll clean things up sooner or later.
