There is a darker side to the Combine than seen, surprisingly. Sinister experiments have been taking place underground all around the globe. You are Todd Anderson, Test Subject T-0089. You were stationed in the Mental Telepathic Procedures Unit, where the Combine experimented on your mind, bending it to access normally unreachable areas. As the tests are concluding, and you are being taken to your execution chamber, the hidden lab is liberated by rebels of the uprising. You are taken back to Black Mesa East. Unfortunately, we all know how that story ends...

*POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING*

By being granted the power of telepathy, you will be able to read the minds of many people, most of them being key story characters. In some parts of the story, you will be forced mentally into the position of a key character, in order to apply more logic and story to the situation you have found yourself in. Towards the end, there will possibly be a section where your mental powers exceed your abilities to control them, which will have deadly results. That's possibly the only physical effects that your powers will have in this mod.

Exactly my point. You've seen what horrible things these Combine do, but what you don't see is what's intriguing.
