This mod catapults Empire at War into 2018. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.

The Providence is according to canon one of the most overpowered ships you can imagine: Point defense lasers, general-purpose *quad* turbolasers, and 102 proton torpedo launchers. And on top of that, a massive hangar i which it houses its droids.
Really, this was a bit of a challenge to redesign, but I really enjoyed working on this one. The ship has several quad turbolasers, laser cannons, and 2 very powerful proton torpedo banks. But, the ship is designed so it can only broadside, so the Providence's weapons are very limited, you can only bring 50% of your total firepower to bear on a single target at all times. So I set otu to design a ship that is worthy of the name "destroyer" but is still relavitely balanced enough to work within a gameplay perspective.
In the end, I chose for a ship that was as realistic as possible. It has quad turbolasers, laser cannons, torpedo launchers, ion cannons, and many fighter squadrons to keep it safe. It's surprisingly fun to use and I'm entirely happy with the end result.
