no seriously, this is basically just a barracks, if anything it should be a lvl 15 power defintly not worthy of replacing Rohan's best power

Not really... you get units for free and they are stronger than normal units as they have a switch.
This ability doesn't have such a great burst damage as other abilities have, but over time this ability is much stronger, as it grants you much more and stronger units than equal abilities like Isengarts 25 points power. And the units stay forever.

well that's not even explained in the video. all I see is a tent making some troops. and the description on the side basically just says that this is a barracks and a blacksmith rolled into one. thanks for a better explanation. Now I somewhat appreciate this power more. tho i would still prefer it to replace the last march of the ents, since ents aren't actually a part of Rohan, plus when i summon them, they act retarded. Whereas there is nothing wrong with Helm Hammerhand, and he is a good example of what a lvl 25 power should be.

but ents still were never considered part of Rohan. Just because they destroyed Isengard and indirectly helpd Rohan doesn't make them part of the faction. Even though he was from a different time, he was still a part of the faction.

Part of the faction is not necessarily a criteria for spells. Many spells represent reinforcements from outside, such as the eagles, the Grey Company and the Rohan army for Gondor.

To me, Helm was actually a perfect example of what a 25 spell should NOT be: He was a one-click mass destruction machine without any interesting mechanics, he didn't provide much atmosphere because he was neither prominent in the books nor in the movies, and his model was horribly outdated. The encampment, on the other hand, is completely unique among 25 spells and shows off a key moment of Rohan's actions during the books and movies. It also enhances Rohan's core strength, cavalry armies, whereas Helm was a tanky infantry hero.

well who's fault is that? you guys were the ones who made him, you could have updated him if it bothers you that much. I like this new power but you're replacing the wrong power for it. The ents are so god damn useless because they are always bumping into each other when they are trying to move, thay done do much damage, and can be easily killed. So an update for them would be nice, since you dont plan on removing that power instead.

Yes, we were the ones who made him. However, we created him several years ago and he just wasn't up to our current standards anymore. We could have updated him, but we felt that he simply didn't have that much potential and would be average even if we remade him. That's why we decided to replace him with something completely unique and more atmospheric instead.

The Ent spell is actually one of the strongest 25 powers in the game, and one of the few that can end a game in one swoop because they can destroy any fortress with ease. In our German forums, players are actually united in their desire to see the spell significantly nerfed because it is that good right now.

when i use it, they constanlty stumble over each other and can barely move, sometimes they stutter when throwing rocks, causing them to have to rethrow. I dont know how anyone could see this as a powerful power. Maybe if you were playing against some one with downsyndrome, but me and my friends had no problems with dispatching the ents with ease. The power sucks, simple as that.

You dont like, go find another mod that has this kind of work put lnto it. Oh wait, there isnt any. This is the best mod for this game. Its only minor problem is its in german but its greatness overpowers that weakness.

Well... 90% of the players of edain think that the power is too strong and mostly it is not possible to save your fortress when somebody is rushing this ability.^^
You can kill a few ents, but your fortress will go down for sure. That has nothing to do with braindead people, it's just nearly impossible with most of the factions to defend their fortress against this power if it is used by a good player.

you cant rush with a power that it takes atleast half an hour to get.and spearmen and flaming arrows take them down in a jiffy.

If you're playing good this should be no problem... if I say "rush" then I mean that you're buying 1 power of each stage and the ent power asap. Normally your enemy can only counter it with spearmen and catapults, as he can't build too many archers before it, as he would be killed by the rohirrim then.^^
=> he has to ould knights himself and spearmen. Rohan has a great harassing power so he can destroy most of the enemy's economy. => if he is recruiting many archers with fire the rohirrim will kill them and if he doesn'T the ent spell destroy his fortress... and if you're attacking with the ents and your rohirrim together it's nearly impossible to ocunter it at such an early stage of the game. Probably you're not playing very aggressive against your friends and that's why everybody gets enough money to have so many archers to counter the ents.

spearmen + archer with fire +flaming catapults basically beats all of that.

I just wonder, will you people add rohan infantry? I know they're mostly horsemen but royal guards or some riders on foot would be nice for maps where you'd want to play defence. Like Helms deep. Or if it is possible to give the horsemen a dismount ability.

We already had included rohan infantry but deleted them as it didn't fit to Rohan.
ROhan got too much a spam and infantry faciton, but according to tolkien it was a faction of farmers and horsemen - that'S why you can't get so many different strong infantry units.

Description

The Rohan encampment is a new ultimate spell for Rohan that will replace Helm Hammerhand. Modelled after the large camp at Dunharrow where the Rohirrim gathered to ride for Gondor, this encampment will periodically muster a bataillon of cavalry at no cost and send them forth into battle. You can upgrade the camp with different expansions to have the gathered troops come with better armor, better weapons, horse bows and a general to lead them.
