Apart from spellbook, can they be recruited as well?
uh not to rain on your parade, cause these are very nice, but Tolkien said that warg riders didnt fight with bows because wargs had a very different gait then a horse, making it really difficult to shoot well while its running....and they dont have bows in the movie either

In the movie they do have wargs
And maybe the accuracy will be bad?
And the animations will be bad *** ;)
