The story takes place in Russia at the secret plant called "Object E7" or "Black Star" at the same time as the unexpected consequences at Black Mesa. G-Man was planning to organize three incidents of portal opening originally. First one - at Black Mesa Complex. Second one - at Black Star plant. The third place is unfortunately unknown. But thanks to the fact that the cascade resonator at Black Star was out of order, the planned incident didn't take place there. Object E7 is a laboratory complex researching anomalous materials and organisms. Its academic adviser is Dr.Victor Shmurghe. He has connected directly with G-Man.
The protagonist is a political prisoner who was moved from a jail to Object E7. His main purpose was to test a prototype of the new protection suit H.E.V.5000. But he could escape during usual testing by chance.

The weapon selection hud is messed up. Does anyone else have this?
"Dopusk 31" and "E7 Blackstar" are two mods that were obviously created by the same Rusky son-of-a-bitch. They both are great, great mods -- two of the best and most underrated 'user-made' Half-life mods of all; they are also both two of my favorites.
Whereas there is much 'exploring' (though no combat with 'militants') in Dopusk 31.....there IS quite a bit of both 'exploring' AND combat with militants in "E7 Blackstar."
Many of the textures in E7 are pretty high quality and custom made. The level diversity is significantly better in E7 than in Dopusk -which is somewhat too monotonous. There are handfuls of 'script errors' in which doors won't open in E7 -forcing one to use a 'noclip' cheat. There are also a number of instances in which it does require some back-tracking, and using all one's 'gray matter' in order to figure out how to 'proceed' to the next area (puzzles, etc.).
The difficulty level in E7 is just right -not too easy or too difficult......though the final battle is very difficult, probably much too so.
Like Dopusk 31, "E7 Blackstar" is a very long mod, which is a good thing - though not quite as long as Dopusk.
I rate "E7 Blackstar" a 9/10.

Magnificent mod, REALLY. It has such a mixture of levels and a heck of secret levels that I never got bored of it.Plot was good and simple. It even has 2 endings.Difficulty around Medium to Hard and it is A LONG MOD.

haven't played a mod this good since strider mountian. very original and challenging. the zen scenes are the best iv'e seen. do you have other mods? i'd like to try them. keep up the good work.
For some reason in my download archives I found this, and I never remembered downloading it, then I put it in my Half-Life folder and played it. Overall I think the game was, in a good way, challenging. Sadly it was kind of confusing in the beginning on where to go, and later on I got confused on are the bad guys Terrorists or the Government. It is an acceptable mod to me.
I've noticed some of the Narrations had poor English, but as I think, this was made by a Russian, so I see nothing wrong, but I did laugh sometimes when something was mispronounced and the meaning of the sentence was changed by that mistake.
