DukePlus is a game-enhancer and customizer for the EDuke32 port of Duke Nukem 3D. Written by Dan Gaskill (a.k.a. “DeeperThought”), the DukePlus mod provides optional enhancements to the original game as well as giving level-designers a vast selection of new options and effects to utilize in their maps.

Highlights:

  • Enemy customization
  • Translucent Water
  • Ladders
  • Grabbable and pushable objects
  • Optional weapon replacements and alternate fire modes
  • Player ally AI
  • Sector based dynamic lighting system
  • Gore and weapon damage effects
  • In-game options menu

If you want to play DukePlus with custom mods. You can do this through 2 ways:

1) Copy pasting all the DukePlus subdirectories into a mod's folder (including the 2 .cfg files) while running that mod's custom game directory.

2) You can use dukeplus.bat to run eduke32 instead, edit it to force it to load whatever mod directory you want, though make sure to have the 2 mod directories listed next to each other like:

@echo off
cls

echo.
echo DUKE PLUS
echo.
echo by DeeperThought
echo.

EDuke32.exe -game_dir 2000 -game_dir DukePlus

Replacing 2000 with whatever mod folder you want to use. Make sure to select 'none' as the custom game content directory otherwise it will ignore the paths in the .bat, Enjoy.

Any hope this will eventually support Raze engine? At least a dumbed down version just for the extra guns, which are lovely and have always been.

Can I use the latest eduke32 with this or only the specific one that comes with it?

Hey, love the mod!
I have only one question/ request: If it's not too much trouble, could you make some kind of patch to replace the default 3D weapons and enemies (double-barrel shotgun and robot, if I remember correctly) with sprite versions? My computer can't display them properly, and I get black squares instead. And yes, I know I can switch them off in the mod's menu, but I'd rather not, you know?
Thanks in advance!

That's a bug with the models because he never created sprite versions. It's not your computer. Everyone has that bug unless they use 3dmodels. What you CAN do is toggle off enemies being 3d models in the DukePlus menu so that at least all enemies will be sprites, even if weapons and environment are 3D. You will have to restart/reload the map to apply changes though. Sadly, there's no sprites for shotgun or any other custom model that wasn't in vanilla DN3D.

I have a bug now whenever I start a new game. My devastator seems to be limited to 50 rounds. No matter what, I can't get more than 50 rounds, even though default ammo for it is 99. It started when I loaded up "Shrapnel City". Now, whenever I start a new game, it doesn't go above 50 rounds. Is there a way to "reinstall" the game to remove that bug?
