Desert Crisis is the most unique mod you'll find. The action is always blazing fast and intense. Weapons range from modern pistols and machine guns to vulcan chainguns, flamethrowers, plasma canons, C4 packs, flare guns, electric sledge hammers, katanas, laser pistols and rifles, and more! Items include energy shields, anit-gravity packs, IR goggles and more. Use a variety of perks such as extra speed, kung fu master, woo-tastic, stealth, bio-regen, and more! Features bloody detatchable limbs and heads like Soldier of Fortune and a huge entity system that allows mappers to create any kind of map or objective you'd ever need. Would you like your objective to be to deliver a pizza and then blow up a building? No problem! Total freedom. You also have the freedom to customize your players looks with a variety of heads, skin color, glasses, hair and facial hair, hats, mouthwear such as cigars, pipes, cigs, etc... and tons more! Recognize players by their looks, not just by their names! I almost forgot the different moves you can perform! Flip in any direction. Left, Right, Forward, Backward. Perform wall flips to flip to the top of buildings and walls. Flip off of walls in any direction. All of this combined makes a fantastic action packed mod like NO OTHER. Desert Crisis? Coming back? Oh yes, it's true. desertcrisis.net has everything you need to start playing this amazing mod again! Never played it before? Now's the perfect time to try it out! One of the problems with Desert Crisis is that it never made a smooth transition over to steam. Luckily, a brand new installer has just been put up for download that is very steam friendly.

The updates from 1.5 include the following:

  • A new game menu updated for steam
  • New background music
  • New game icons for the steam menu
  • An updated in-game command menu
  • A server browser fix for steam
  • Updated server binaries that fix the following:
    -fixed weapon slots bug
-fixed some issues with the latest version of Akimbot
-fixed a bug in warning info_objectives that share a targetname with another entity
    -updated easter egg access
    -new RELAY Trigger type
-fixed a bug in delayed SET triggers
    -fixed the chaingun capping bug
-fixed a bug causing the hud to not update when cl_lw was set to 0
-fixed wootastic deagle and rbull damage (similar damage/minute as the other pistols now)
-c4 no longer disappears in ceilings
-mappers can now define multiple in-map weapon restrictions
    -fixed $change command in mapscript
  • Updated FGD for mappers
  • Fixed typos in some maps and added map briefings

So head on over to desertcrisis.net, download the updated Desert Crisis, and start playing!

Do you have the bots that actually work RIGHT with this mod? Can you please upload them or only link them, I'm searching them with no luck over the net since 2 year ago...

Thanks and good luck with the development of DC ^^

Good to see that this one's coming back (or at least trying to) with some updates! However, if you're trying to play with the Akimbot (version 3.1 is the latest I could find) you'll be thoroughly challenged with invisible opponents. GOOD LUCK!

This is a bug that seems exclusive to DC by the way: both buzzybots and existence models show up fine.

I've tried to make bots for this game (mod) but I have failed. Player models of bots are invisible...

Yeah, same problem I was having. They work, they just don't seem to properly get a model.
