You know, for a pretty heavily fortified bunker turret....that turret looks like a flimsy futuristic VTOL.

The "turret" is in fact a replica of the main cannon of a UFO shot down by WEA forces near one of the meteor crash sites. Apparently the men in charge of designing Cerberus decided to keep as much of the original ship's look as possible since they were huge sci-fi fans.

WEA high command did not care as long as the turrets kicked ***.
