This mod consists of a transformation of some of Dark Crusade characteristics by adding more techs, including the powerful Veteran tech, new units and abilities that make all races different from the ones in the original Dark Crusade. Some of the new features of this mod include aircraft abilities, like thunderhawks dropping bombs on the battlefield or valkyries bombing a target. This mod is still in the early phases of development, so stay tunned for updates.
The most dedicated renegade forces, the disciples would be the equivalent to IG stormtroopers/kasrkins or veterans.

Why do renegades look scarier than chaos marines and daemons?
Honestly I don't know but considering they have a resistance similar to IG infantry they are weaker than marines or daemons and so if they look scarier it may be their bluff, trying to avoid most enemies by looking too strong for them.
It's the masks. I mean look at those eyes! Besides, Chaos marines and Daemons don't LOOK scary. THEY ARE SCARY, they spread fear by spreading the enemy's bodyparts all over the place.
Yeah gas masks may look a bit scary but I still think warped creatures like daemons and crazy super warriors like the chaos marines are somewhat scarier.
Still renegades are scary as IG can also be scary: they are numerous enough and have enough weapons to tear you apart in combat.
