Day of Defeat (a.k.a. DoD) is the latest online action experience from Valve, makers of Half-Life and Counter-Strike. Stationed in the heart of WWII's European Theater of Operations, players join the ranks of an elite military squad entrenched in battle.
Each team has several "player classes," that give each squad member a unique role. These include scout, infantry, sergeant, machine gunner, and more, each with a unique arsenal of historical weaponry at their disposal.
Day of Defeat includes an expansive collection of missions based on key historical battles. And a near infinite number of additional missions, created by the online development community, are available for download.
As war rages, squads must battle as a unit to achieve victory.
Key Features:
Class system gives each player a unique role
Historically-simulated weaponry and items
Dozens of missions based upon WWII's greatest battles.
Built-in support for voice communication
New features:
Introduction of British troops.
Enhanced FX for smoke, fire, rain, etc.
New sounds and music.
Updated player and item models.
New maps.
Completely overhauled interface - supports in and out of game configuration, server browsing, and more.

Hmmm...may be online this classic HL mod is almost dead but tnx to all the bot developers it's now revived on my pc offline. Now playing good old dod beta 1.3b (tnc god I didn't lost my old installers)with probably the best dod bot ever...the great sturmbot..darn felt like it was year 2001 again LoL!....it's first bot support was blitzbot alpha 1 haha dumb as hell but it was useful enough during those dod beta 1.1 days atleast you have something to shoot to.
then came boc-bot which I personally got involved with by making some waypoints for it.
it was a way better bot than blitzbot since it can navigate maps now but it needed some more tweaking
on certain things. Finally came sturmbot and with it's initial release it was already kicking my *** all over those finely made dod beta maps.Too bad the author died during the tsunami incident in Singapore, may he rest in peace. Shrikebot another dod bot but can't recall if I tested it ions ago but seems the author has made lots of update atleast till 2004 when dod was already in it's post beta days.
So here's some HL-DOD bots and links to get them...
1. Sturmbot - really good all stock maps already waypointed.
Dodbits.com
2. Brain of Combat aka BoC-Bot - good but still buggy.
Zneaker.com
3. Shrikebot - will test it soon...I remember I did played with this bot on that Tour of Duty mod.
Shrikebot.bots-united.com
4. Blitzbot - hehe nevermind!
dead?
no,because it is for buy
In which version did they add the overhead player team icons? or at least make it on by default?
i guess its either 1.0 or 1.3
bots ?
Sturmbot is good.
where did you download bots for this mod?
