Return to the West that never was in this genre-blending total conversion for Unreal Tournament 2004. Equipped with an array of steam-powered weaponry, acrobatic skills, and mystic Spirit Powers only you stand against a ruthless, mechanized foe.
A self-styled "steampunk fantasy-western," Damnation stands apart, providing the gaming community with not only fresh, new gameplay, but an untapped world to explore as well.
Damnation is a new breed of gaming experience. As a first/3rd person action/adventure title, Damnation's gameplay is unprecedented.
Combining the immersion and precision-gunplay of a traditional first-person shooter like Call of Duty with the navigational puzzle design of 3rd-person adventure titles like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Damnation is a new paradigm in genre-blending gameplay.

If you go to their website, apprently Damnation IS a commercial project. On the projects page for Damnation, they give a release date of 2007.
As mentioned I don't beleive this isn't commercial, as mentioned spirit walk and possession is some of the best things ever. The weapons are unique, the idea is unique, I thank you for bringing a meaning to the genre of SteamPunk!
looks great.. downloaded it and it said something like corrupt file or something.. So i downloaded again. Same thing... Real shame cause this mod looks like it rocks!
Can't install it after I upgraded to the newest UT2k4. Installer says you need version 3323 or something. Blah, that sucks. Stupid...
natace, have you tried looking 4 a umod installer program? look up umod tool on google or some ut 2k4 download site... i had problems with umod installing until i found that
I dunno, but i've downloaded about 5 mods now, and all have been freaking Umod things.
I've installed the Umod browser, i've searched for the ut4mod file extension and opened it inside Umod browser...then i extract all to the UT2004 folder, i go to damnation's system folder and double click on the .bat file...but i get a stupid error message saying that:
"windows cannot find ..\..\UT2004.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click on search."
Whats up with that, i've tried editing the .bat file so that it is directly right at my ut2004.exe file, but...no luck.
I am getting really annoyed with the mod developers and lack of instructions, as all they say is to double click on ut4mod to install...but ut4mod is not a known file, and so it asks what program you want to open it with...how useless.
And all the install directions have said so far is to install such and such patch, by double clicking on xxx.exe (patch exe file) to install.....i have no idea how you people manage to play these crappy ut4mod files but there is no way that people like me are going to play your mod if you don't include proper instructions on how to actually play.
Well to me, i think theres way too much blood.
Hey where did this come from? Really different mod and use of the ut4k engine. From the ground up this is very professionaly put together and a blast to play.
The 3rd and first person play works great and gives quite a bit different gameplay. As mentioned above the spirit walk is a riot and adds another dimension to the gameplay, and the weapons are diffent from the norm, especially the steam gun. The atmostphere is well done and the game levels are really well thought out in this demo.
Give this a try and you won't be disapointed, the team at damnation really put a lot of work into this and it was a blast to play and lets wish them the best.
Well done!
