Crossfire is known for an open and free Roleplay environment. Doing roleplay for years we have kept it simple and without enforcement.
Motivating players to do roleplay appeared to us to be the better way.
With the introduction of Crossfire 1.9 the server sided roleplay massively gets improved....
How does it work and what is new?
The Crossfire Roleplay consists of two parts. The public roleplay and the ASF vs. CSF roleplay that happens once a month.
ASF vs. CSF is a combat situation between two factions which have different plans for the future of Sirius. They fight one week each month for the control over the Crossfire systems. The server automatically recognizes the progress they make during these fights and decides which faction looses and which factions agains control over a system.
The public roleplay is class specific one known from traditional roleplay games. You choose to be a pirate, a cop, a merc, a smuggler or a trader.
Depending on your choice the Crossfire universe will react on you. Be a pirate and cops will hunt you, be a trader and pirates will try to tax you. Even NPCs will let you know if they like or dislike your role.
Every roleplay class has special rights and abilities -> eg. only smugglers are able to trade the high profitable Black market goods and cops get special rewards for killing a pirate or smuggler while pirates, mercs and traders have their own special abilities.
While we have focuses on keeping the amount of rules as small as possible we made the choice to let the server automatically balance roleplay events. Administrative interventions are not neccessary.
What about the good old PvP?
As we decided not to stricly enforce the roleplay players still have the choice in agreement with the opponent to do PvP everywhere aswell as they are able to use one of the special PvP systems.
Even clans are able to fight against other clans outside the roleplay boundaries if they wish to. However they still are able to do the same with the use of roleplay.
Crossfire roleplay is designed to be slim, effective, fair and free.
