C&C: ShockWave is an enhancement mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. The main goal of this mod is to make Zero Hour a more interesting game with more diversity between the generals, making you think twice before you select a certain general, and overall provide more choices, diversity, and strategic freedom than in Zero Hour - while keeping the spirit and design direction of the original Generals game and storyline.

iv'e seen the same thing in a unit in contra 007 called the "omega cannon". you could upgrade it with control rods which would eventually pop out of the sides after upgrading. the only diff is that the control rods the omega cannon are blue in color like the advanced control rods.

The unit's stats aren't final yet, but it will drive around and it will have the ability to teleport (It will never teleport all by itself). However, like the description states, the teleport isn't stable, so watch out.

We haven't agreed on the method of which the Enforcer's teleport is going to be unstable. Your damage idea sounds the most predictable, and that may have it's benefits. Currently we are thinking of just making it poof out of existence if codable, maybe with a little bang.

If you are going to do that, I would be fun if it was a little nuke or something in a small area. Also, if you could code in a decrease in stability in relation to an increase of distance it would be fun to suicide these things into an enemy base by teleporting them from the other side of the map. ;)

I think it would be more likely to go off right on front of your war factory, would would it be unstable arriving at its spot instead of departing?
Sounds more fun to me, also because you wouldn't really want to keep them protected in the middle of your base.
I must agree on one thing, the further away the teleport the more unstable it gets sounds really reasonable, like (in case of dissapearance code used) the chance gets smaller of actually arriving when you teleport right into your enemies base.
Although weakened would also make it way less effective...
I think it's a nice unit anyway :)

I think that if it is used to many times that: A- the tank disinagrates over time, B- the crew inside dies then making it able to be captured, C- the tank itself becomes unstable and blows up in a ball of plasma at a ramdom moment and then the resulting effect will cause an unstable ball of plasma to form like the effect of the main weapon but on a larger scale. Just throwing some ideas out there for consideration

Did you get the idea of the Philadelphia Drive from the Philadelphia Experiment? Either way, good work on the tank, looks cool although it does look like the concept Chrono Tank from Red Alert 3...

NergiZed Oct 31 2008, 8:03pm replied:

Not sure about the Philadephia drive; I didn't partake in the process of naming it. I always thought it had something to do with the Space station Philadelphia in CnC 3 (that got blown up). But whatever your talking about is prolly what it's actually named after.

The tank itself based off the chrono tank concept from RA3, like the Shatterer, Mammoth, and Wrath tank are all from CnC3. The old Mirage Tank in 0.93 is the same one from RA2, and the old beloved RAGE hovertank from 0.93 is from Tiberium Sun.

We frequently pay homage to CnC, you can always expect us to put units from or based on CnC art in our games.

Just like the Philadelphia experiment, at random the enforcer loses it's crew after a warp, ready for someone else to take? Much more cool for the enemy than it just dying. It also makes you stay on your toes not to let your enemy steal a warp empty tank?

Our mod is tailored for mid to low-end PCs. prolly any $50 G-card can run Shockwave. An even lesser one should still be able to run a 1v1 match without that much trouble.

Must suck not have have a G-card that can't play this and many other games; I've been through a few periods like that myself. Hope you get a new G-card soon. :)

I wonder how you programmed this buddy.
I bet this chronoporter is some kind of container, which disapperars again when the enforcer is dropped out. But this makes a problem, if it spans drones:
they would follow the tank over the whole battlefield giving a big view over their path. Anyway, if this sphrere has a viewing range, it would defog its path too (if its a conventional unit in the sense of a vehicle), or has it no view range? If so, how do you drop out the tank at its end postion again?
Just wondering...

I think the textures on the turret barrel are a bit exaggerated. It looks like it's going to burst from overheating. At least that's my opinion. The rest is pretty good, just the texture on the barrel(s). Hmm... and maybe "Copperfield" Tank sounds more...ah...appropriate...he he.

Not really, it's attack power is pretty high, but it's got pretty thin armor; It'll get popped before much damage is done if you've got an air force flying around, a good tunnel network set up, or just some arty aronnd.

It Teleports...

It.. Freaking... Teleports...

IT... Yeah. It could be kinda unbalanced I think. Even if one were to get behind your base, let alone 10 or something. This will need to cost a bomb. Or maybe it could have that wait time, like the GLA hole.

Yes, I also agree with the idea of one cannon too. Those two side bits are too 'heavy'. could work if the turret was moved back slightly to act as a counterbalance RP wise. Is it me or are those front tracks ... wider? If they are wider, I personally don't like that. Makes it have the lobster effect. Moving the cannon back kinda solves that problem too, plus gets rid of that unneeded space at the back. Creative Criticism over... Now for the good stuff.

... It freaking TELEPORTS!

Description

The new Enforcer Tank is the ultimate example of US technology. After many failed prototypes and countless years of research a battle ready model of the Philadelphia warp drive was fitted into the tank. This allows it to reach up to a certain amount of distance in an instant. May the threat be close or far, Alexander now attacks her enemies swiftly and without warning. Enemy generals have tried to study and learn from this new threat but so far none of them were destroyed one in combat for them to inspect.
It is unknown at this time of the maximum range this tank can ‘teleport’ itself or how often it can repeat the process. The Enforcer left the public astonished. Scientists claim it would not be possible for the tank’s crew to survive under warp conditions, especially after repeated warps, claiming the crew would eventually be completely wiped out. They also challenge the fact of how the tank can maintain its structural integrity. Many are calling the tank a hoax.
Even if warp technology was discovered it would be a extremely unstable, meaning the tank under many circumstances would simply disappear and never return again. As more and more of these tanks are built out of Alexander’s War Factories and show astounding results from battles around the globe, more people are proven wrong. By the time Alexander’s enemies fear her, it will be too late.
