This mod is for all the players frustrated with the cartoony nature of Zero Hour units and buildings. We intend to replace every fanciful unit in Zero Hour with its closest possible real world equivalent, without changing the unit's capabilities.
Presumably captured in the Sino-Soviet border conflict of 1969, this OT-55 flamethrower tank is now used by the PLA to barbeque enemies of the state.
"But dhd," you'll say, "that looks just like your T-55 model but with some bits stuck on and the colors changed about."
Yeah, well...
You're implying that the people who come complaining actually bother to read.
At least this looks credible... as in Soviet kind of credible :)
Not looks. But it existed. The effective range of the flamethrower was 150m, and if crew made modifications even 200m.
Good.
Allways best quality. :)
Ironically, PLA in reality has a big number of its own flame tanks
Negative.
if you don't know about it, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist :D
Moderation time! Less stupid conversations please.
Nope. Not even true.
Flame tanks are a thing of the past, unless you are fighting in the jungle.
IRL most countries have given up on using flame-based weaponry for many tactical reasons.
reactive flamethrovers - TOS-1, RPO-1 are sucessfuly used by the Russians. "Classical" flamethrowers are likely to see a Renaissance because of the shift of warfare types from army-vs-army to guerrila Libya\Syria-style (CIA + CNN vs army, lol) conflicts.
>CIA+CNN vs army
You have my +karma
Well, unless you want to get condemned, best not to use it, cause it is a super effective weapon actually
The Thermobaric bomb, developed by Russian is a bunker busting incendiary munition for underground bunkers. Why? Because flame not only torch anyone alive underground, it literally suck out the oxygen, suffocating those who survive the initial blast. Its a extremely effective weapon that NATO and UN ban it.
What is worst than being killed by fire? Killed by suffocation!
Looks fine to me. :)
Haha nice idea!
My major concern is the MBT's name, it is sometimes written as TO-55 in Western publications.
Morozov's website says it's called OT-55 so I'm guessing that is correct.
OT is the correct designation. TO is the Western interpretation. They both mean flamethrower tank just in different placement/order.
Ognivyi Tank if my Russian is correct.
