This mod is for all the players frustrated with the cartoony nature of Zero Hour units and buildings. We intend to replace every fanciful unit in Zero Hour with its closest possible real world equivalent, without changing the unit's capabilities.

Skin for the new "battle bus" stage. No, the turret does not fire and is only an ornament.
I like the turret, I really do, but its kind of misleading so is it still possible that you can consider removing it?

The chinese troop crawler also has a turret.

The same as the MG on all the tanks? They also aren't used in game, but they're there to complete the model.
that's kinda dumb in my opinion... since there is a version of the BTR without the turret... i understand the tanks but you should just remove the turret for the BTR.

we just want to give our opinion, for your mod to be better, not complain :) but this is your mod, the choice is yours ( but i think remove the turret is good thing :p )

how about removing the gun from the turret or make it look damaged as if it WAS a functional BTR-60 but just like terrorist are they just have old hardware which sometimes doesnt work but the main function of a transport is still given.
I'll probably end up doing this. Would still be best to have a flag come out that says "Bang!" on it.

Very nice model although the dirt bit in the front needs reworking I think. Looks like messed up paintjob of fake dirt.
Also I agree that it shoot be able to shoot with that turret.
Since we aren't changing gameplay, the battle bus will not be able to shoot without troops on board.
I think you should leave the turret, looks better, even if it doesnt shoot.
i feel if your gonna have a turret it should fire, otherwise remove it.

No, but otherwise you might use a regular bus with additional armor plaitings. It has been reported that Talibans and al-Quida soldiers have used buses as both transportation and makeshift infantry fighting vehicles.

maaaybe in the future we will change the gameplay but right now it is just a mod for people to give a VISUAL diffrence/improvement. Most likely then stuff like MG on tanks and on that BTR-60 will shoot but thats just rumors ;P
Nice, but why not improving it to look like BTR-70 or even like BTR-80?

In my opinion the BTRs are not a good repleacment for Battle Bus because BTR-60/70 have only 6. firing ports while BMP-1 has 9. firing ports.
Your BTR does look good but BMP is more suitable to be a Battle Bus.
But the BMP is armed with a either 73mm or a 20mm Cannon, so, that would be a bad replacement.
Can't believe people still like to use the stupid approval button, I find that even the developer who provided free mod to play are not spared from the carnage....... People will never stop complaining, giving opinion is one thing, but giving disapproval means that you no longer appreciate what the developer had gone through to give something that considered well polished. :(
And please, don't blindly follow the "mob rule" just because more give a disapproval or approval doesn't mean you should blindly follow, just to show that you are in that crowd....... Make consideration before you press that damn + - button. :(

Very nice model, for me BTr-60 is much better visual replecement for battle bus than BMP. Have you considered to make various salvage upgrade stages, so to have stage 1 of BTR-60P (the version with oust roof but with canvas), the stage 1 as BTR-60PA (variant with roof, but without turret) and as stage 3 the BTR-60PB (the model you have already made, with turret)? All best in new year!

Love your work, cant wait to see what you do with infantry units.
Google "BTR-60P", and you will find that the BTR-60 do have a TURRET-LESS VERSION (yes, the solution is just out there).
With a BTR-60P, you can add infantry models inside, holding AK-47, RPG-7, etc... whatever they can use, to create a more realistic model.
There are other options, BTR-152, BTR-40, all obsolete Soviet APC with open top, that are available out there for insurgents and terrorists.

Haha, "solution". It was a conscious decision to leave the turret on. I wanted it there for a simple reason: It gives a strong visual cue which direction the "bus" is facing. Remember I'm trying to keep gameplay from being modified, certain tweaks like this can really help players from getting confused/annoyed with the new units.
This has been a persistant remark though, so I'll suggest (seriously) what I do to most persistant remarks. You are absolutely welcome to model and skin the vehicle yourself and get credited as a contributor. At the moment it seems to be only me working on the mod, so I can't just go around changing every vehicle that gets suggested, especially when its concerning something as small as a visual aid that would require an entire reworking of everything.

I agree with doctorheredoctor. This is a BTR-60PB and while the turret may not be operated it will still provide a realistic and visual clue as to the Surplus equipment. The BTR-60P was quickly superseded in production by the BTR-60PB roughly 5 years later.
With the doctrine of both NATO and Warsaw Pact a BTR-60P would have been a sitting duck not mentioning the vulnerabilities and exposure to NBC elements.
