Basically this mod will just adjust the units and gameplay of FoC to make it more canon to Star Wars lore. At the moment it will only be space. This means all ships will be rescaled and the amounts and types of weapons will be increased in order to try and bring them to spec. This is not meant to balance the game, but to make it more "realistic". There will be no fancy new ships or stunning new graphics (yet), just a difference in gameplay that will hopefully mimic the style and action of the films.

Slight correction in data on the Victory 1 and 2 Star Destroyers.

Posted by on

It was pointed out to me by johnny21 that my data regarding the Victory-Class Star Destroyer was incorrect. It is the VSD2 which has the concussion missile banks, and the VSD1 which does not. Therefore the model which was shown as the VSD1 will actually be the new model for the VSD2 which the Empire uses in-game, and the old model from Petro will be used as their special unit at the Hutt Asteroid. Just wanted to make that correction so there's no confusion.

according to wookiepedia this is true, however this information is not always accurate (being wikia it can be edited by anyone). johnny21 showed me data from a now defunct site, starwarstechandstats.com, that says otherwise. the data from this site has evidently been given the thumbs up from lucas&co, so that is the data i will be using.

im not ignoring your help, i very much appreciate it. my data was going to be the same as what you brought up, but johnny21 corrected me with canon information. i want this mod to be as close to canon as i can possibly get it, so i will be taking as close as i can get

Patton the Essential guides list the victory 1 as having the missile launchers.

i just bought a book called "A complet guide to the star wars universe: revised and expanded edision" from 2008, written by B. Slavicsek and G. Lucas.

and this book says the same thing as the now downed site starwarstechandstats.com

victory 1 = no CMLs
victory 2 = 80 CMLs

and if you still won't accept the facts, let me know and i will scan the pages with the stats and send them to you.

We are not saying that your book says otherwise, we ares saying that it could be wrong. Since the New Essential Guide, Essential Guide, The Imperial Source Book, and the Wizards of the Coast all point to the opposite.

Also which version do you have? The latest of that line was published in 2000 making the New Essential Guide the most up to date I am aware of.

well VSDs are part of EU as it isnt in the movies, and unless one of you can prove me that GL said that the VSDs have or not missiles its still imprecise info but its not that important anyway so any version is fine for me

ya, personally im using them with missiles for the vsd2, and none for vsd1. it seems like adding banks of missile launchers wouuld be an improvement in design, rather than the other way around. since theres multiple canonical sources contradicting one another...i think i can get away with choosing the one i like best and still be canon :)
