I see they can still shoot you though reeds with 100% accuracy like in CS. that always annoyed me. well that and the NPC homing grenades.

They only saw me because I was moving. If I stood still they wouldn't have noticed me. Movement has a bigger impact in this mod. A sniper can go unnoticed from afar, but if he moves they will spot him. If at night you sit in a dark corner, Stalkers might not even know you are there unless you move. Weather, Night, Movement and Sound all influence detection.

Detection also depends on if Stalkers are in threat mode or passive mode. Those mutants are what ruined it, really. They would most definitely not have seen me.

I really can't do anything about the grenades unless I write my own action for it and disable the engine action. For some reason it is hardcoded, even though they stole it from Xstream's xr_grenade scheme for SoC (Perhaps to hide the fact they steal ideas/code from modders?)

I thought that Major was friendly with the Military.
Anyway that's another fine feature, silencers are finally gonna be useful

From my understanding you're not gonna play the Major Degtarev. It's gonna be more like a freeplay-mod with little tasks and simple missions. Lurking through the zone as a common loner, can't wait!

Even if you are Degtarev, they don't know who you are. He is undercover as a stalker. Relations can be changed easily, though, if you don't want army hostile to actor.

Description

Ever notice how in Call of Pripyat enemy squads will magically know where you are and close in on your location? In this video I test what happens if you go around shooting like a wild man, being too loud and unruly. Nearby enemy squads will take an interest in the commotion and investigate. This is a build up over time which slowly decreases. If you reach a certain threshold other squads will take notice. In the video it is exaggerated because I full auto two and a half clips. Yes, silencer makes a difference. Don't expect to blow away a squad of enemies next to a territory or base without them coming to see what is going on. As long as you stay relatively quiet nobody will magically know your location from half-way across the map.
