BrewLAN is a mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance that has been in on and off development by a team of one for almost a decade. It adds a wide variety of new units for all factions, as well as offering several new game modes and features. The core design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting, and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximise technical compatibility with other mods.

As much as i love to see new units i have to question the purpose of such a T3 AA. If one uses FAF, of which the majority of current players do. Then we already have T3 mobile AA, for all races, as they adopted the Blackops T3 AA as default.

Im not saying look out for doubling of units from other mods, merely from FAF. Personally id love to see the Cy T4 Battle ship, or UEF T3 jamming plane get completed. Those would be exceptional additions.

I agree. You should take FAF as the basis as it's the only multiplayer. Same for the release, the zip is cool for testing but the only way the mod will be played is if it's uploaded on the FAF vault.

As far as role goes, this is also a mobile radar.

As far as the Cougar goes, it's an ugly, lazy model comprised entirely of the T3 engineer and the Mongoose and I always hated their inclusion of the BlOps units, and I already have a sub-mod for disabling duplicate units across mods. Although it does it at random so it's fair, and it still needs setting up for this unit.

On the subject of the Cybran Experimental Battleship, I might work on that today; I've always known what I wanted the main weapon on it to be, and every time you mention it it reminds me of it and how cool it will be. I did always wonder if people actually cared about the decoy planes; it's not a unit I hear much about.

0.8 will be on the FAF vault.

The decoy planes are somewhat useless, at least the Aeon one is. Being T3, it is simply too late to deploy one to annoy people. it really needs to be T1, or T2 at most. OR it needs some form of other function.

The nark, as you have named it, the T3 jamming plane however is stupidly useful. The ability to hide entire air-forces is really tempting.

Also mobile radar significantly improves its usefulness, especially on 40x40 maps.

Heres and idea. Could it be possible to create a decoy plane/gunship that draws the fire of AA in exactly the same way he blackops seri protector bot does for ground?

I think you may be mistaking Jamming for Stealth field. Jamming is false signals. The Nark and the Beguiler are more or less the same unit. I've not had much chance to use the Beguiler in real games, and I've never had much feedback on it, so I could bump it down to T2 quite easily.

I could make a aircraft that does the stealth field.

I would have to look if there is anything special the BlOps thing is doing, but the Decoys are set to SPECIALHIGHPRI, which is the first thing any weapon looks for regarding targeting.

i am using those two terms as if one, which is my mistake. Considering the UEF jamming plane is incomplete, when i spawned it for giggles i assumed it was stealth field. I would be nice to have one however.

I also suspect that once you vault the mod, more people will give you feed back. So far this is the only place to know of the mod.

Tenth. mwuhahaha.
Hmm. There is also Total Mayhem Air Grinder.
I got nothing againts FAF Kirvesnaamas B.Ops Cougar and TM Air Grinder and your unit either.
Your Johnny/Crotale(Cactus,Mistral)/Gecko is supposed to be just common radar or an mobile Omni
(or like cybran soothsayer/aeon eye of rhianne/seraphim version of eye of rhianne optics tracking)?

As you know, I dont like when enabling/disabling anything, even duplicate role unit at random, but only in exact systematic manner, Blops,TM and Brlan are mandatory for me.
Maybe taking far greater look at Lucky Dip sub-mod can sometime in future become..more pressing xD
Its a great new unit.

It currently has a small omni and a medium radar, although it doesn't have real stats yet; just placeholder ones for basic testing.

Lucky Dip is currently only set up for BrewLAN & BlOps, although it could be set up for more. The idea of going through TM to work out what should be selected and finding their unit codes is a little overwhelming though.

So this is a mobile scanner with anti air ability to defense itself?
Awesome! But it will look little weird since it dont have a turret and have to turn entire body to face target. Maybe Im wrong though.

Yeah, but the UEF's Miniguns gets boring after a while. Shake it up a little.

the unit looks interesting and it having radar does give it a unique usage over other T3 AA ive seen. As for names, perhaps Longbow?

I think I like this name best. Also works well with Archer their T1.

On that subject, there is a time-lapse associated with this unit which I am currently editing. There was an issue with getting the shading to look right, which turned out to actually be because I miss-typed the filename of the normals, and I am currently deciding how much of that fuckup is actually interesting to watch. It was recorded at a higher bitrate than the shield, so the quality will be better. That video will be available to my patron(s) later today or early tomorrow.

This is another unit that currently has no name; accepting suggestions. Liable to end up getting called Johnny 5, although his big dumb head is actually based on the Crotale NG, and the rest is based loosely on the 9K33 Osa.
