Maybe Actually, Wargames.net Owns the old GPG, the guys who made World of Tanks and War Thunder. As a bonus they also bought the rights to Total Annihilation of Atari a little while back, interesting no?

They have only made World of tanks,World of warplanes and are in alpha of World of Warships.

Gaijin entertainment owns Warthunder.

Does this mean each T3 extractor is getting a special upgrade?.

Each race is getting an upgrade to each of its T3 economy buildings. Aeon are getting shielded things, Cybran cloakable things, UEF engineering things, and Seraphim armored things.

The only one of questionable use is the Cloakable Mass Extractor, but I can see some fringe cases with keeping control of MEX points in a battle zone.
