Legends of the 3rd Age (formerly: Blue Wizard Mod) adds two new playable factions, Lothlorien and Moria, to The Battle for Middle-earth(tm). These factions come with a fully functional AI. It also enhances the original factions with additions and changes the gameplay. The focus here is clearly on multiplayer. Units and structures are designed to fit in the original game's style.
Yo people,
in this image you can see how my faction is actually *not doing nothing* for the first time ever. With that achieved, it is very likely actually that Elves will have a working AI by the time of this first release. I'm very proud of this as I've not really had a lot of experience in working with the AI and I just had to share this little success with you. (Just ignore the Rohan farm and the peasants and pretend that they're not there XD)
I cannot promise an art update because I personally am not very good at it, and there's still a few bibs, animations and textures to do. I can't deny that I'm getting a lot of help and I'm very thankful for all this, but there's a limit to asking others to help me. I will give my best to finish most of the points on my list before the release.
Maybe i could help with models? :)
Thank you for the offer, but that is not the problem. I want to learn some stuff (like making bibs etc.) myself. It's not much left to do art-wise for the first release, I will be good. But thanks anyways, I appreciate it. :)
Are normal maps add-able to BFME1?
You need some here :P
Well done! New BFME 1 Faction AI is pretty hard to work with.
Thanks man!
I am looking forward to this mod. Great work man !
Thanks, I appreciate it!
This is awesome :D Beautiful fortress
I agree! Credits for the fortress go to Mathijs. :)
Does it mean Elves have AI with upcoming release? Also I have a question. Do old heroes have new abilities ?
Yes and yes - most heroes at least ;)
Oh nice. This is really cool :) Will the first release come before 2016?
Before Christmas. I will not be able to provide a full, bug free version; some things are still lacking, build up animations etc., and it's likely that some bugs are still undiscovered. But I want to release something now.
Many mods tend to work for years, postpone their release further and eventually not release anything. That's not the path I choose to go.
tl;dr: Yes, there will be a release before 2016. :)
