That bayonet is badly designed, its too far back to be remotely effective. Bayonets seem usless in the future considering armor types.
its not a bayonet, its not designed to attack the enemy from nearby. You can fire the blade from a middle-distance, kinda blade-thrower.
A Piercing weapon? Sounds good against futuristic armor, but only if fired from close up. I mean, no matter how powerful a spring or whatever may be, it can't reach more than 15m. =P
oh? do you know that nitrogen gas has 3000PSI? you can fire a 10lb block of metal at a lethal speed for something like 20m, on a tiny tank. if most of that area behind this blade was a tank of nitrogen, you could fire it at prolly something like ~150MPH. if that doesnt pierce armor, then what does?
make it look scifi-ish, like with a laser edge to the blade, and then it could look like a decent weapon.
