Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source. Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.

VERY nice teaser trailer.
Excellant detail and graphics (obviously)
Although it might be boring to re-play through Half-Life again just for extra visuals...Perhaps I'll try this one anyway :)

This teaser IS the old one. The developers (while talented) are full of s***, and are "fishing" for votes. They care little about the community, and chances are this mod won't come out next spring or maybe even next summer. Who knows? They sure have no clue, but they want to squeeze the community for all its worth.

danw13335 Sep 20 2008, 3:18pm replied:

Wait... you're saying that although the developers are talented, they have no actual interest in completing the mod, but rather spend all their time "squeezing the community for all its worth" to get votes for a completely free mod? If they don't care about working on the mod, like you say, what could they possibly gain by creating hype?

Yeah how come the developers have not been up-to-date with there own website. The least they could do if they are wanting the communities votes for #1 upcoming mod is to give us a little insight on the present status of Black Mesa. I mean the trailer and the screen shots are a nice inside look at what black mesa is going to be like but I know if your as impatient as I am that that really isn't going to cut it. If anyone has any idea of the current status of black mesa PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT!

We are all anticipating the next release, complaining about it wont do you any good. If you are that impatient, then forget about this mod completely. I'm sure the devs will appreciate the cost savings in bandwidth.

Looks awesome. The visuals are amazing, and look like they even surpass HL2 quality (from what I can tell in the video). I can't wait for this mod to come out!

And to all those complaining about how long its taking, remember: This isn't just a normal mod, where the devs modify some code and make a few maps and models. These developers have to completely remake a 15-hour+ game, including all maps, objects, scripted events, and characters, as well as the multiplayer maps.

Anyone who really cares about the original Half-Life will realize that the result will be well worth the wait.
