While the fights in the Rocky Mountains are continuing, the Russian and Canadian armies need to get battle-deciding support to their squads at the front line. The only direct support can be given through a tunnel that is connected to a military outpost at the Yukon river. While the Canadian army is already busy delivering the support, a specialized Russian devision is invading the base in the mid of a snowstorm.
Due to the low visibility-range, vehicles can't be used and air-support is distorted. The soldiers are now on their own, each faction fighting back as hard as possible, because whoever wins this battle, will also win the battle in the Rocky mountains.
Divided by the river, each faction has secured one controlpoint. However, the bases are not unconquerable. The fight is won by whoever can secure the enemy base. The only backup controlpoint is on a half-sunken cargo ship in the mid of the river. If this controlpoint is in the hands of the enemy, you have to go over the bridge, but be warned: This is a video game, and cars will explode if you aren't careful enough. The battle will then continue in a abandoned repair station...
... or between containers
The heavy snowstorm gives you a extremely small visible range, which also means that vehicles aren't usable, and you'll have to battle in close quarters. I worked some destroyable objects into this map (fences, cars, windows).
I hope I made you a bit curious.

Arctic warfare, a mod that specifically is made for what the title states, is a mod that in it's first beta is a very map-based mod. Even still, it is clearly well and hard worked on, and the overrrall quality of the map is amazing. Pros: -Beautiful map, very large and great visuals. -New weapons and skins are always a great thing in a BF2 mod -Challenging AI -The little "easter egg room" inside the bunker :D Cons: -Rather reliant on vanilla bf2 -AI mapping needs to be reworked, as sometimes they…

For the boats on Yukon Bridge, will the be the standard vanilla ones but retextured, or will they be new original models. Ones like civilian fishing boats without MGs.
Also I play this mod frequently with my friends. Usually we jump on a snow speeder and put C4 on it, my friend gets a shotgun and we jihad charge into the enemy. It's so much fun!
This mod is actually getting played? Wow O_o
I still have to decide that.. I think I'll make a new model, but I don't know if it should be armed or unarmed. What would you like better?
The vanilla boats generally never get used by bots... so they are rarely effective on normal maps... so I think unarmed. But it doesn't necessarily have to be a totally new model, you can just meshhack the turret off the vanilla boat and replace it with an infantry slot. Or in that case you may as well have the whole thing stay vanilla.
And yes, we play it a bit, C4 jihad-ing is our main strategy because the bots bunch up. One thing in future, could you meshhack the Littlebird gattling guns to be bigger, and the mini wings to be longer too, and for both LB and EC helis, add one unguided missiles to each wing.
Well then I might just leave the vanilla boat there and modify it a bit. I'll see what I can do about the helis, thanks for the support :)
Do you think you could also make retextured, snow-modified DICE maps? Like a snow Karkand, Oman, etc.?
A snowy desert? :D
Yes, I think I'd be able to do it, but I'd rather like to do custom maps. I know that my maps will never reach the quality of a "Strike at Karkand"
but it's more fun to do them.
Maybe you should add a map pack with snowy dice maps! :D
