LOL. no, it's not forgotten.

the ISU-152 is easily the toughest arty-tank in the game.

it's just that the SU-100 has the highest AP attack values of any Russian self-propelled gun. the ISU-152 will still have the ability to bombard tanks at much longer ranges than the SU-100.

ISU-152, at least the most common version, was designed as tank destroyer, not artillery. There is a saying "When ISU-152 fired, Tiger's turret flied away".

oops, I stand corrected, the SturmTiger is actually the toughest artillery tank in the game. but it's still not as cheap or as practical as the ISU-152.

yeah, the Guards version is basically artillery with AP damage of 125. the regular version just fires HE shells. the ISU-152 can only fire three times in a minute-- so it's not ideal for anti-tank duties.

the new system for attack values is based on historical penetration at 500 meters and historical rate of fire. and in this regard the ISU-152 comes up short as a tank destroyer. the benefit is that it can project it's high AP damage at twice the range or more of a regular tank. if you combine it with the SU-85 and SU-100 the Russians have a very formidable combo of tank destroyers and arty-tanks.

Guards ISU-152: 125 AP every 20 seconds (375 in 60 sec)
Guards SU-100: 195 AP every 10 seconds (1,170 in 60 sec)
