Not really sure that it naturally fits well in the mech hq. It fits more really in the infantry hq if we're going by the historical basis.

I can understand your line of reasoning on the Infantry HQ... but in this case I made a decision based on gameplay balance.

I got a lot of feedback on the earlier APC regiment for Great Britain. people complained that they couldn't properly counter APC spam from British infantry tents. although I found ways to do it-- I admit that this was an extremely challenging regiment to engage during the infantry stage of the game. nothing was powerful enough to destroy the APCs and you had to spam snipers and AT infantry to really do much to stop them. in some games I had to build dozens of obstacles and minefields to give my forces a fighting chance.

given that this particular regiment is fast moving mortar spawning jeeps I figured they might be just as difficult to counter.

ideally it would go into the "Animal/Motor Transport Division" that is under development for India. but for now it's going to get stuck at the Mech HQ until we get the new building figured out.

Hey, so I was bored and was browsing mods for this game. I didn't actually expect to find any but hey, here I am. I hope you release it soon, I'm excited to be able to play this myself ^.^.

Description

one of the problems of fighting in South East Asia is that the dense jungle made normal artillery of negligible value. there was so little long range visibility that big guns could only rarely be brought into battle. Eventually the Allied forces came up with the idea of Jeeps pulling trailers with a mortar team to provide highly mobile fire support for advancing infantry. Here is a screenshot displaying this new regiment in action. naturally it will be deployed from the Mechanized HQ. jeeps and pack animals were often combined into regiments because of their superior mobility over a variety of rough terrain.
