here is a snap shot of German Stukas and Fw.190s ravaging the British fleet in the Channel. this is from the new German version of the map. there aren't as many players at work in this version-- because the Germans have more difficult landing forces on the islands than the Brits. to make the British version more difficult I have them contending with multiple German fleets and amphibious landings from three directions. all of thise while four German airfields are bombing them relentlessly.

if we do another boat it would have to be something that every nation can use. boats are quite difficult to pull off!
Right now I'm experimenting with an easier method of doing boats. Right now the cruisers, destroyers, and transports are all the same for every faction.
Boats to take A LOT of time. However, I'm thinking I can cut the workload in half by making the turrets and barrels one piece. There won't be recoil, but at least this way every faction has a unique destroyer and cruiser. I just have to test some new models to see if this theory works.
that sounds like a good plan-- especially with the smaller boats.
The experiments worked. So now each faction (Including Italy and France) will get unique cruiser and destroyer variants.
Giz, how are the death animations for ships? Are they acceptable?
there are some neon bits, but for the most part they look pretty good. at least the ones I've tested in battle... still got a few more to work in.
