I've been adding denizen components to capital buildings this weekend. I figured that it would be a nice feature for the WW2 and SP campaigns. there are two problems for gamers to deal with. the first problem is that if the city is not fortified with bunkers or guarded by a regiment it is very easily captured. the second problem is the opposite-- it's possible for players to capture a city and STILL have to fight the defending regiments to the death. once the capital changes side you still have to kill off a large number of enemy units before you can secure the city. this feature is currently only available for Washington DC, Moscow, Berlin, and London.
Why not add it to Tokyo as well?
missed the deadline by a couple of minutes. Tokyo, along with a half-dozen other capitals like it, will get upgraded later after the beta-test patch gets released.
if I didn't upload something by 10 PM this evening there's no guarantee I'll be able to work on it again for a few weeks. real life concerns take priority over modding.
I see.
Ah I see, so only the MAJOR cities get it.
if people REALLY like the feature I could look into adding partisan regiments to every city center-- but then you'd actually have to fight for EVERY city on the map. morever, these regiments would be invisible on radar. even if you successfully captured the city it's still possible to keep fighting. I found a scenario where the AI captured a city but STILL had to kill off the defending tank regiment that was summoned to stop them. the AI subsequently lost two regiments to defending neutral tanks. the neutral tanks then started attacking the recently captured city in an attempt to reclaim the city. it's kinda strange to see in action.
