Description

since anti-tank guns were categorized as artillery, I decided to add the artillery property to all AT guns. (not the bazooka, panzerfaust, PIAT, or other rocket projectile anti-tank weapons!)

what this means is that they benefit and suffer from this new attribute. since fighters and artillery bunkers have attack bonuses against artillery, this makes the anti-tank guns more vulnerable to these types of attacks. the "Counter Battery Fire" special op can now destroy anti-tank guns instantly because the artillery property is now assigned to these units.

here we have a comparison of four non-upgraded USA 37 mm anti-tank gun regiments vs two German Tiger/Panzergrenadier regiments. in step 2 we can see the predictable result of the Tigers and grenadiers annihilating these four regiments in less than a minute. with the use of the Maelstrom special op, however, these four 37 mm anti-tank gun regiments are annihilate the two German regiments. although this would have been historically impossible... I felt like adding the artillery property to anti-tank guns would help make infantry more competitive in the late stages of the game. if non-upgraded 37 mm guns can knock out a regiment of Tiger tanks that should put to rest any concerns about infantry remaining a viable option late in the game.
